Seeing the discussion on one color vs another feeling softer I remembered something. I wish I could remember where, but I've read (and it was backed up by something related to dyes etc.) that lighter color towels will actually be softer than a darker color of the same material. I've no idea if that holds true however.
What kills me about MF towels is the cost, I mean anyone that has looked knows you can order them by the thousands for dimes on the dollar compared to what we are all paying. Any size, any gsm rating, color, texture, dual weave, single weave, you name it. Units that bring $6 ~ $7 (or more) can be had for less than $2 maybe less than $1.50, if you're willing to order say 4000 ~ 6000. (not exact numbers but y'all get the idea) Heck, the 360's can be had in huge lots for a buck or less!
It amazes me that I've not seen a 'group buy' here for such thing. (Don't wanna' break any rules btw) I've seen group buys on tons of stuff that you would use in say a home theater. Stuff like speakers and wiring, (which have 80% ~100% markups), mid-line and even higher end projectors (which have maybe 30%~40% markups). On car forums we've seen wheels, intakes, plenums, headers and cat back systems, not to mention things like body kits. Just seems like a natural progression, but whadda I know. :dunno: I bet if say there were some nice, heavyweight towels in the 360, 460, 530 range that had a price in the $1.50 ~ $2 range with a minimum say 50 towel per lot order that us AG'ers would snap up thousands upon thousands in a hurry. Imagine opening a 100 towel or 200 towel order and just rolling around in them!?!?! Gotta' admit, it'd be pretty darned cool.(In a Twilight Zone kind of way.)

Dear Friends
No one mentioned Chemical Guys's Sasquatch Maximus?
I haven't gotten my hands on the Car Pro BOA towel, but I have most of the others mentioned in this thread.
I have about 70-80 microfiber towels, perhaps 20-30 different make/models. The Chinchilla comes in second in my opinion. I have about eight of those, but the Sasquatch makes me babble baby talk.
The Sasquatch is what I keep in our van's storage console at all times. It's the softest towel I've ever felt.
Yeah, that was at a microfiber seller. "the dye in darker color towels is heavier, and makes the towels feel less soft. So a black, dark red, or dark green towel will be a bit more rough than a white, light blue or yellow towel"
Any linting issues with the Sasq

One very soft and nice towel that I never see mentioned is the MicroFiber Tech Korean 460 gsm. This towel is unusually soft and good for any paint use.
The Korean 460's are really nice. I bought some from an online detailing vendor with its physical location here in Irvine, ca. They have towels that are the exact same description and color/border combos as microfiber tech (600 in lime green, Korean grey 460, Chinese blue 530). I have each of those. I am convinced they are the same towels at both vendors.
The Korean 460 are plush on both sides, the nap is a little shoter than the long side of 530's but the texture feels different than most other towels I have. It's almost like velour, really soft but enough firmness not to drag when you wipe wax or polish. Its soft because of its material, not because of the length ofthe nap. They are a"go to" towel for me.
The bright green 600s at microfiber tech and dot com detailing are long nap, pick up dust and dirt well for waterless, rinseless, and final wipe. They closely resemble the CG Sasquatch but are not as thick when viewed from side.
The 530's are nice for wax and polish removal and a good value at that price point.
hmmmm......They do market the black ones for wheels.
Yeah dude my local detailer sell those green 600 gsm's for 5 bucks a pop. They are THE towel for rinseless washes. Have you used them for polish removal? It seems they are too plush to be effective at removing polish. Also, have you noticed they are stretchy?
Very stretchy. But only one set of opposite sides stretch apart; the other set of sides does not. I tried them removing some black light last weekend and they worked pretty well. They weren't very effective removing polish residue - not enough bite to separate something unless it takes almost no effort to wipe off.
I also have some grey "micro cotton" polish remover towels but didn't see enough of a diffence in effectiveness over the regular 530 to justify the higher cost.
