This laptop is shared between me, the wife, and our 5 year old. Occasionally the 2 year old gets his hands on it. It's been dropped 3 times yet still works. It will probably get used just as hard over the next few months/years.

It will be interesting to see the anti-scratch effect of the DLUX coating over the long term. Stay tuned for updates! :props:

I've actually been thinking about doing this.....

I've done something similar with 845. Works great.

It wasn't overkill till the 50/50 shot....j/k.

I do the same to many electonic devices including my computer case.
Through trial and error. I found 2 coats of Opticoat works great on laptops, Ipads, monitor and Tv bezels.

 Not at all.

I have an Acer also. As 'cheap' as they are, they sure can take a lickin' and keep on ticking.

Love this!!!!!!!!!!! Showing my wife so she knows I'm not the only "one" out there!!

Looks good! Now don't let it 'slip' off your lap, lol.

It was previously sealed with MaxWax!

That's an awesome idea. I'm planning to do this for all my new electronics from now on.

I can't believe how well it is holding up for how much abuse it has taken. I'm not big on "name brands" when it comes to electronics. To me they are all made of essentially the same internals so why pay more for the name stamped on the front?

Hehehe, good one!

LOL, thanks!

There is an Autogeek in all of us!

That's' funny. Actually, when I was finished I set the C.Quartz bag on the laptop and it slid right off the side that was coated! :coolgleam:

Amazing the lengths we go through to make it through a winter of detailing cabin fever. I was thinking about getting out the DA and some Klasse AIO and redoing a shower door, even though it doesn't really need it. Just need to make it through another 6 weeks or so before I can start my spring detailing.

:iagree:
Shower doors, chrome faucet trim, counter tops, toaster, microwave.......my wife loves it!! I don't have the nerve to try the tub, might get TOO slippery?!

LOL! I thought I was the only one. I use my iPad Mini to test out polymer sealants haha.

Boredom for some means trouble but I'm glad you used your for constructive purposes.....:props:

Very nice Nicholas!

LOL....thats my kind of thinking.

Something else I learned in my vast experience of polishing one 14" laptop: Do it on the floor. When I hit the edge with the rotary the thing almost spun off the table! LOL that would have been it's 4th drop in about 2 years.

Having no cars to detail sucks! It's a side income for me but I genuinely enjoy it so I miss it when I have no cars lined up.

Your avatar! LOL. I needed this a few days ago! "These aren't the swirls you are looking for."

True! I could have gotten in to way worse trouble than this.
