Hello,

New to the forums, well sort of been lurking for a few months now trying to learn new things, read reviews on products and check out other peoples work.

Well anyways on with the review...

Here is the test subject
2007 Honda S2000
WEKFEST.jpg

And the products being tested

Hood stripped of previous LSP and spray sealants applied

APPLICATION

WGDGPS Spritz - Application was easy, i sprayed a few spritz and spread it out thin, flipped the towel and lightly buffed. Needs 12 hour cure time for full effect.

Gtechniq - Same as WG but it required a little more pressure to buff off, it seemed to be a little sticky as well when spreading it out. The nice thing about this product is it can be layered to bring out the gloss.

CG Hybrid V7 - Spread very easily and seemed to dissappear as i was spreading it out, almost no buffing was required. Defiantly the easiest to apply.

Slickness

WGDGPS Spritz - Slickness was great very smooth

Gtechniq - Kinda rubbery feeling, my fingers seemed to get stuck more then glide freely

CG Hybrid V7 - To me this felt the most slick, my finger glided easily over the paint

Gloss

Gloss between WG and CG were very similar

Gtechniq took it on this one brought a really nice glow on the paint

Dust repellency

I work in industry so within one day my car gets covered in a layer of dust.

WGDGPS Spritz - Seemed to attract quite a bit of dust, but was easily dusted of using my dust monster XL

Gtechniq - Attracted the most dust, the dust also seemed to stick when tried to dust it off lightly using the dust monster XL. I later had to use QD to completely remove the dust.

CG Hybrid V7 - still very simlar to WG with the dust accumilation really hard to tell which of the two did a better job. Also removed easily using the Dust monster duster

Water beading/Sheeting

Here is a video i tried to make showing the beading and sheeting of each product
Water sheeting/beading comparison test - YouTube

WGDGPS Spritz - Decent water beading a few spherical beads appeared, sheeting was also decent not as great as i expected
2013-02-13_23-05-27_523_zpsdf799dc8.jpg

Gtechniq - really great beading effect nice sphere shaped beads and the sheeting was also amazing as the water just seemed to roll right off

CG Hybrid V7- Again very similar to WG, but slightly better on the beading, sheeting was a little bit slower then WG

Smell

WGDGPS Spritz - The best smelling out of the 3, really sweet smell i have a bad nose so cant really put together what exactly it is im smelling but i love it. Smell is also pretty strong

Gtechniq - Smells like chemicals to me but it is not a strong smell

CG Hybrid V7 - Orange creamicle is what i get when i smell this product lol not a strong scent but nice to work with.

Price

WGDGPS Spritz
16 oz = $19.99
64 oz = $59.99
128 oz = $99.99
Not bad on price and the product goes on really thin so a 16oz bottle can coat a decent amount of cars

Gtechniq
250ml(8oz) - $29.99
1000ml(32oz) - $74.99
The highest price out of the 3 products, but is probly the best when it comes to water beading/sheeting/gloss level

CG Hybrid V7
16 oz - $18.99
128 oz - $46.99
Best bang for the buck when buying the 128oz(one thing that always gets me with any chemical guys product, you save so much money buying there 128oz bottles compared to the 16oz version)

Summary

All in all each product worked great and choosing one would depend on what you need it.

WGDGPS Spritz - Great for topping and can be used as a stand alone paint sealant.

Gtechniq - Pricey but has great hydrophobic properties and also would be a good stand alone product

CG Hybrid V7 - Best bang for the buck when buying 1 gallon size, not sure yet if i would use it as a stand alone sealant but it is definatly a great topper and has a great slickness to it.

Well sorry if this review is confusing and not very helpful it is the first review that i have ever done on any forum lol. Also i dont have a quality camera and all the videos and pics came from my crappy outdated droid 3.

I am planning on leaving these sealants on the car for maybe a month untouched to see how they hold up to a few washes and weather condition. So ill be updating with another video and more pics( hopefully with a better camera )

Comments and opinions welcomed
Thanks,
Jet

I was down to WG and CG so this review was great for me!!!

Well done sir!

I love V7. I use it weekly in between car washes to get light dust and dirt off. Isn't that the CR s2k? My buddy got a yellow one and his gf got a blue one.

Very nice review. I have used both the WG and CG and really like them both.

My favorite is WG, but you just cant beat the price of CG for the gallon lol

No this is a normal S2000, i just bought the CR front lip and a replica carbon wing. I really wanted this color when i bought the car. Kinda wish i had gotten the CR though since it just came out a couple weeks after i bought my S2k and it is pretty rare since only a limited number was made

week 2 update

got hit with some heavy rain yesterday, lets see how these spray wax sealants have held up

the beading is significantly different seems that these products have worn down quite a bit

2weeks and nothing was done except the rain?! Not bad for any of the products, V07 IMO is the go to product, smells great, cost effective (gallon size) easy to apply/remove.
Great comparison of 3 products!

To be honest, 2 weeks is much better then I would have expected from spray-on sealants. Great review.

Lazyjet, very nice review and thanks for the update I just may have to try out both WG and V07. I have been wanting to pull the trigger on the backlight/V07 combo for sometime and this was just the thing I needed to entice me more to make that purchase!

I agree Steve. V7 cant be beat when it comes to price and use.

Nice review OP

Thanks everyone for the comments

i wish i had the money to buy some EXO, really wanna try the C1/EXO combo on the entire car
