Black light v7 ???

Wax over sealant correct??? So v7 down first then black light???
I sweat I have been reading threads lately where people put down the black light then top it with v7... A little confused here and I shouldn't be...
 
No problem. Chemical Guys has videos on youtube for both products.
 
I have been always told sealant before nuba, and not vice versa. but for some reason cg does it the opposite.

In this case the blacklight has cleaning abilities. So if you put the v7 down first the blacklight would remove it.

Yes Blacklight first let it dry for 15 mins then remove. Then wait 30 mins and apply the v7. Little goes along way if you spray the entire panel with v7 you probably will get streaking. Also after every wash apply the v7.

It is a sealant rather than wax. BL does contain light abrasives.
 
Have you all tried this combo? How did you like it I normally use liquid souveran and ss2 layered and figured I'd try 2-3 coats of black light and the. V7.
Paint is pearl white (kia) looking for a different pop rather than the glow of pinnicale (love the glow just going for something different this go around
 
My avatar pic is the blacklight/v7 combo. I really like the combo but the durability for me is horrible. I learned that I can't use the combo in the summer because the Texas sun/heat kills it. But its been holding up great this winter.

While the blacklight part is good, v7 is the best part I order it by the gallon now.
 
Blacklight is a glaze with fillers. By itself wears off quickly like a glaze, topped with a sealant such as V7, which it not a wax, prolongs it a bit.
 
So if black light is a glaze layering it is counter productive correct?


What if I did black light v7 and then 2-3 souveran/ss2

Its a hybrid,according to CG, sealant so you can layer it. Just loses durability because it also is a glaze. Thats why they recommend topping with v7.
 
I don't understand the concept of being able to layer Blacklight. It has abrasives in it so in theory the 2nd application would remove the first
 
Where did you find info pertaining to it containing abrasives? I cannot find that on any UK or US Chemical Guys site or product description ?

It depends on how aggressive you are with the second coat. Most put the second coat on by hand.

I get excellent results with one coat using a white pad. Then I use V7 after each wash. I don't bother with a 2nd coat.

Strait from chemical guys website
Black Light contains very fine abrasives in the formula to help clean and lightly polish the surface while it’s adding gloss and protection.
 
So is it worth it to top the black light v7 with souveran or ss2 or is that a waste of a nice combo on top of this sealant hybrid pair?

If your going to use black light/v7 then either just use those two or first apply blacklight then either souveran or ss2 then v7.
