I've been interested in this product of Meguiars ever since I seen them come out with it earlier this year. After seeing Marc08EX do a review on it I wanted to try it out even more! Link to his more in depth thread http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/60691-review-meguiar-s-da-power-system.html

Im not going to do a super in depth analysis/review of this since Marc did an awesome job covering it & already blew it out of the water. I'm simply going to add my opinions and thoughts on the product since Marc didn't have any of the compounding pads. I actually purchased some because my Mustang is a bit thrashed and trashed and wanted to see if this system could remove all the defects.

The products I used and purchased

Defects I was going up against!

DA Power System Mounted and Compounding Pad Attatched along with some Megs Ultimate Compound. A little more than I like came out of the bottle but I decided to work with it.

I made about 4 section passes using moderate pressure and slow arm speed. I found it a bit difficult to operate this system with the compounding pad because it's so dense, but I soon adapted and overcame the issue. The Ultimate Compound reminded me a lot of M105 but it didn't dust quite as much and was slightly easier to remove. It dries fast so I had to do an IPA wipe to remove all the product when done. The compounding made an incredible improvement removing all defects (scratches, swirls, waterspots).

Here is a 50/50 after just the UC.

I then removed the compounding pad and attatched the yellow polishing pad and applied Ultimate Polish to it to remove any hazyness and add more clarity.

As you can see the Ultimate Polish further refined the finish like it is intended to. I also found the DAPS much easier to control with the yellow polishing pad. This product worked fantastic and just as advertised. I was really pleased with. Just another example of the quality products Meguiars Delivers.

I don't have much use for this personally as I have a Griots 6in DA and I use my PC 7424XP with a 3.5 LC BP and 4" pads. I really like the Megs pads over my LC hydrotechs though, and they are much easier to clean. However If I didn't have my PC I would would still get a lot of use out of it. This product is great for someone who doesn't have a dedicated small pad da. Its perfect for bumpers, rocker panels, drip rail moldings and painted mirrors and headlights. I will most likely just use it for spot repairs and headlights. Thanks for looking everyone!

Amazing write-up and great results, Caleb!!! The 50/50 shots show a big difference and really point out how well this product works.

Thanks for sharing!

Thats a really good 50/50 shot Caleb! Im glad you liked the product, from what you and Marc have suggested, it looks like another winner!

Really nice Caleb! the 50/50 really shows how well this tool can work.

thanks for insight on the compounding side of the unit.

Your welcome. Thank you!

i heard this DA power system act similar to the forced rotation from Flex.
If that is the case, i believe this system will be far superior than any polishers equipped with the 3/4" BP, for say the Griot 3" will stop rotating as soon as u have too much pressure, and for the MEG DA System, i highly doubt that it will stop rotating....

It is forced rotation like the 3401 as I mentioned in my review.

Have you tried using a small 3-4" BP with a 4" pad on the DA? Mine doesn't stop rotating. The small 4" pads have far less mass and surface area contact than your typical 5.5 and 6.5 inch pads. It'll take a lot more pressure to stop rotating those. The GG3 might be a different story though.

Yes...it is another great Meguiar's product!!

{Marc and Bob are also believers...If I remember correctly.}

Thanks for your review!!

Best regards,

Well said Marc. I will be showcasing and proving your point in a how to video im producing soon.

Thanks for the review and answering the question if this would be better than a second polisher. I saw the price and thought for another $50.00 you could have a griots. I will be getting some of the megs pad and try those out.

Thanks! Love the picture LOL

Interesting review. Thanks.

Your welcome :xyxthumbs:

Hey how do u adjust the drill's speed for this?
Or do u just go full speed using this lol?

Thanks for the review PapaSmurf.
The Meguiar's DA Power System is a very nice tool.
I did a review on it before too but I did not post it on Autogeek. I posted it on Autopia Forums:

Meguiar's DA Power System - Autopia Forums - Auto Detailing & Car Care Discussion Forum

I was able to remove sanding marks with cordless drill that is not even up to the rating required by Megs. I believe this has something to do with the Forced Rotation design?

PapaSmurf Product Review Meguiars DA Power System

I wanted to ask if what is the policy to have someone review a company product? I want to get an honest opinion about a product called crossloop i work for them, hence it wouldnt want self promotion. Please let me know what the steps would be to that

Why are you asking a question that has nothing to do with this review and the product???? And on someone elses thread?

My recomendation:

1. Start your own thread with this question.

Or

2. E-mail AG administration about it
