Presoaking Microfibers Methods

I have soaked MFs and no adverse effects many times. Think about the cleaners we use with MFs and there is no damage then. Oxiclean is safe for dark colors and brights and all fabrics except wool, silk, leather, and dry clean only fabrics. You can soak MFs in hot water for 6 hours to get the best stain removal. If you are scared then test a cheaper mf, wash and dry it, and see if you're pleased. The only time you may really notice any change is for newer towels that are still releasing dye. I don't really see the need for major stain treatment with your higher end MFs unless you are just lust talking lsp removal from the MF. If you soak in a hpt bath of MF detergent immediately after use then you should be fine. But if you notice that isn't working efficiently for you, soak them in oxiclean before wash and or add some oxiclean to the wash cycle. Folks instructions on the oxiclean container though.

Nice info! I think I am going to soak my MFs in Blackfire and hot water for 30 minutes right after I get done detailing. I did it today and it took out so much nastyness the water turned dark. I of course had a presoak bucket for nice towels and another for heavily soiled towels. I might try the liquid Oxi on my lower end towels next time as well.:xyxthumbs:

Not to get off topic too much but, if you have pets, trying soaking there collars, leaves, harnesses, etc., in.hot water/MF detergent or pad cleaner and see how nasty that water gets. I'm sure soaking them in any detergent and hot water will produce some nasty water but may not rinse completely out of the material as easily.

ShaunD are you saying the Blackfire might not rinse out of the microfibers completely or just some detergents might not? Sorry for the confusion.

I meant any detergent MF specific or not. But some non MF/pad specific may not rinse as easily. Sorry to confuse. I believe all the MF detergents perform fairly close to one another. I haven't tried BF to know how it compares MF Restorer or DP.

Gotcha. I have only tried Micro-Restore and Blackfire. I'm hooked on the Blackfire now after reading all the very positive reviews. I do think that it rinses cleaner than Micro-Restore.:props:

Not a knock on Micro-Restore. It is still a great product but I believe Blackfire beats it out (Except for on price lol!)
