That is the question at hand! How do you do it? I've found that when introducing water to soap I end up with 3/4 bucket of foam and the rest VERY concentrated water.

I'm thinking I need to go water/soap

2-3 gallons water, add soap, another gallon of water and activate the suds.

I always fill up a 5gal bucket 3/4 of the way, add soap And mix it in by hand and then hit it with a strong stream of water to activate the suds.

I wash with a 2 bucket technique and Karcher electric power washer. I put water, then soap and after my presoak I use the PW wand in my bucket and suds it up. Works like a charm.

This is exactly what I do :iagree: :props:

Water then soap. Unless its rinseless, then it doesn't really matter much. I use a grit guard to mix it.

I'll give that a shot. Do ya'll use 5 gallons every time you wash? Nothing wrong with it i suppose but just wondering if there's a reason behind it.

I'm actually considering a move to a foam gun in conjunction with a brush as our Mothers rep says my soap can be used with one. A 128:1 ratio is what was recomended by Forrest.

As long as you adequately disperse the 'soap', it should not matter. Soap first makes this easy because you have mixing created by the water movement. Soap second is more difficult, especially if the water is cold - often the soap will fail to disperse at all. The ideal solution is probably to use warm/hot water and add the soap at the end - a quick swirl by hand will then be plenty to achieve full dispersal.

I do as Dr Pain mentioned, water first then soap.
This allows me to accurately measure my water so I don't end up with a bucket full of just suds...
Then a blast from the pressure washer (lance in the bucket) creates my suds. If needed I can blast again to maintain suds during the wash.

& nissenc1337, I quite often use as little as 2 gallons & could probably get away with 1 to be honest.

I use a foam gun to wash. Depending upon the amount of dirt, I usually quick rinse then foam, then rinse, then foam one panel and wash using a MF mitt and 1 5 gallon bucket of clean water with grit guards. If the water gets dirty I just dump it and refill with fresh water and don't loose any soap solution.

I like using the foam gun one panel at a time to wash because I feel that the gun get a nice thick even coat of soap on the panel before I wash with the mitt. If you use a highly concentrated soap like CG CWG or Meg's Hyperwash a little goes a long way.
