4 inch pads

How many of you use 4 inch pads with your DA or rotary? Does it make the curves easier to polish? I have a pc 7424xp.
 
I use 4" Hydrotechs frequently on my PCXP. They are a must in my opinion.
 
I do a lot of motorcycles and they work great and I Griot's 4" buffer to.
 
Yeap, i use CCS and Flat pads. I usually do the details before starting larger panels.
 
I use 4" hydros and CCS's with my XP. Easier to get around tight bumper areas, and the front of the car. You may have to reduce XP speed however. Remember you now have the same speed/pressure going to a smaller spot (4" compared to 5.5").

Since I have a Cyclo I also use those pads on a PC7336 with the correct plate when required.
 
I just got some b&s 4" pads to use on my gg 6". They look promising.
 
Easier to use on the A, B and C pillars or top of doors, front, rear valance, with the correct size backing plate you're good to go!
 
I use 3 inch pads on the GG3. I can get into almost anywhere with these.

If you are using a 5.5 pad for the grunt work, why bother with a 4 inch for smaller areas? 3 inch offers more of a surgical approach.

You are correct Mike, smaller pads are better, didn't know if the OP was looking to get them or already had them.





Never thought of smaller being better, I have to keep reminding my good wife of that :o
 
I don't have them yet. I was considering getting some but wasn't sure if they were really needed.

Lake Country Hydro-Tech 3 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads, hydrotech buffing pads, polishing pads, spot buffs

Yes, they are needed, it'll be a lot easier especially in smaller areas.
Let the machine do the work, although elbow grease isn't that expensive.

I love 4" pads on the PC. In fact, unless I'm attacking acres of flat panels, they're my go-to. The extra bit of oomph provided has turned two-step efforts into single-step ones (or, at least....three-steps down to two). And as the OP mentioned....curves and tight corners....worry free.

I agree with 3"!
 
bumping up this thread... can I buy the 3inch backing plate posted up top for the pc7424xp? or is there another one
