First post guys.. Sorry I know this been over but I just want to make sure I'm doing right . I just ordered new porter buffer, collinite 845, Wolfgang deep gloss sealant and few other things for my rims.. Anyways my question is, can I out 845 on top of the Wolfgang sealant? I already clay the surface and used duragloss 101.. I have white f250, I keep it pretty clean year round, any input would be great.. Thks guys

Hi, and welcome Big Daddy to this great forum! Have fun.

Sure, you can top the WG Deep Gloss Paint Sealant with Colly 845, or any of the other Collinite Waxes.

This seems to be a common practice with many folks here, that they top a Synthetic Sealant with such a Nuba, like Collinite, or the other great Nubas that can be gotten here, such as Wolfgang Fuzion, Pinnacle Souveran, Black Diamond Midnight Sun, etc etc.

It's believed that the Wax on the top then acts as a sacrificial layer-coating, thus even offering more longevity for the Sealant underneath.

But again as has been mentioned, you may find that in some ways, Collinite might possibly visually detract from the beauty of WG Paint Sealant 3.0.

Not that Collinite is a slouch product in regards to high gloss. But WG Paint Sealant is a product that really pops, it will impart a gloss like a wet glasslike candy apple coating that will truly wow you.

A couple times, with more recent orders, I've specifically requested the little free sample bottles of the WG Sealant 3.0, so I can keep my pint bottle from diminishing down to nothing.

About all I can say is try the Collinite 845 on top, or try a small area, and see how you like it?

Other alternatives as a really great topper product for the WG Sealant 3.0, is the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Liquid Seal Spray. This is a Wipe on Walk Away (WOWA) product, and is just as simple to use as a detailer spray, but offers better protection than basically any detail spray, and will maintain that glass-like look that the WG 3.0 provides.

This has been my method lately on my Magenta Red Kia everyday vehicle, and will be one I'll most likely be using on my White Tahoe as well.

Big Daddy,
DertoLearN brings up an important point about this particular WG Sealant, to apply it, then wait a good 40-45 minutes before you take it off. Then wait a full 12 hours or more before you do anything else, like apply another product, or wash, or expose to water-rain, etc.

Thin coats, as thin as possible, but insure full coverage. It's a joy to use, and two things you will without a doubt clearly notice.

That WGDGPS looks killer right after wipe off, and even gets better, and glassier-glossier as it cures.

Some folks like applying with the DA, and of course this aids speed in application.

While in the old days, with the ancient Porter Cable DA's, Waxcoa, and Craftsman Waxers, it was fun to use, but lately, I have more fun, and find greater joy-gratification by hand applying Waxes, or Sealants.

These products like WGDGPS, and Colly 845 apply like melted butter on the paint, so luxurious IMO. And the wipe off is the reward, and even more fun.

I feel I can better "surgically" apply such products by hand, not missing anything, lesser worry about picking up a piece of grit with the DA, and scratching the paint, no sling, no spatter means less time IMO cleaning up, the products is precisely placed where I want it, and not other places.

Collinite is the same way. I can probably do a King Cab Dodge Pickup, and use no more than 1oz of 845. After application around the vehicle, it is usually ready to take off where you started. With WGDGPS, take a break, have a refreshment till application times out to 40 minutes or so.

An MF Applicator works OK, but I think one of the snazzy Pinnacle yellow foam Applicators works best. And I've always slightly water dampened any applicator with Collinite products, especially their paste waxes. Helps them go on so easy. And because of this method, they come off just as easy as well.

With either product on the paint, you cannot go wrong. Mark

Thks guys!! I have been detailing my vehicals for years, I always get so many compliments on my vehicals. I always used waxes and polishes from the auto stores, that's why I'm so excited about my new order.. Couple more questions for you guys.. I have duragloss 101, and I also have Meg clay kit.. I was gonna clay first then duragloss, then sealant.. Would that be the order to do and would duragloss be ok before sealant? Also I ordered fritz metal polish and s100. Should I use 845 on my chrome wheels? What about the sealant? And when should I apply those?

Well, I'm now a bit confused, that you have now pulled Duragloss out of your hat.

Good product, cheap product. Compared to Collinite?

I'll trade you all Duragloss products I have on hand (4), for a bottle of 845, or a fresh can of 476.

476, I could take that fresh can, wax the entire chevy-toyota dealer inventory in this one horse town, and still have a 1/3rd can left.

Insulator wax on rims, sure, great, no mistake. There might be better on AG though, but you'll pay a hell of a lot more money. Think CQuartz

I'm sorry didn't mean to confuse. I was just asking would duragloss be ok after the clay? The reason I have duragloss is because I got it before I ordered my other products. But I read somewhere that duragloss would be good for a cleaner, pre sealant? I guess that's where I'm confused too, you wouldbt use 845 before wolf sealant correct? If I was gonna use 845 it would be after the sealant if needed? I'm sorry for all the questions guys, and for confusion, I just really want to do this right.. Thks again!!!
