*NEW* Migliore Cima Sealant - Wipe On, Walk Away Spray Sealant!

Looks like a solid product.

I'm an Optimum man myself so I use the new version of Opti-Seal but I don't like how it is recommended 12-24 hours (I believe) between coats and yet I hear how blackfire and Wolfgang WOWO are only like an hour or 15 minutes or something between coats?

I am not a big fan of migliore products. Their soaps are ok, they dissolve easy. I am ordering AF tough coat. Got a feeling it will be pretty good

You didn't like the wax? I'll just stick to v7 and only as an after wash topper until it's time to wax.

I got my order of af stuff today. I'm going with the other sealant, power seal instead of tough coat.

WOWA! I thought WOWO was a sissy way out. I like to rub on my paint. If I can't rub it in, spread it, haze it and then rub it off with the gorgeous feeling of microfiber between my fingers and watch the transformation swipe by swipe from dull to bright shine I just feel cheated out of a lot of the fun of detailing. Has it become too much work? Have we been reduced to this? It is like getting up early and waiting an hour at night for the dawn to arrive only to find it is a cloudy day and the sunrise won't peek through - cheated out of a true joy! Or like spending $500 a seat going to the opera and finding out the lead tenor caught a bad cold and can't hit the high Cs. Same thing here. Pretty soon I won't even need to buy towels!!

Well look at it like this, do you feel cheated that you don't have the joy of setting points or doing regular tune-ups anymore too? Its called technology and yes, its trickled down into detailing products too! I mean its hard to believe but a Saturn Aura w/ a 3.6L runs the 1/4 mile in the mid 14's....family sedan w/ N/A V6's shouldn't do that but they do!

I noticed this product doesn't state UV protection, UPGP doesn't either. But many others do, BF, WG, Opti all do?

UV protection is a good thing these days to protect our finish.

Sure, I don't want to fool with tune-ups like the old days with those stupid points and plug gap settings. I am also glad carbs are things of the past. And I marvel at those 1/4 mile accomplishments to the point of hailing the engineers as geniuses! I am thrilled I have a remote control on my tv, a riding lawn mower instead of a push mower, a blender instead of a spoon, air conditioning, etc., etc. But my comparisons were not along the lines of those types of "technological" advances.

Instead, the comparisons I made in my post were like the disappointment at wanting to hear a great tenor who suddenly gets laryngitis, or the eager anticipation of witnessing a beautiful sunrise at dawn but it turns up cloudy at day break. Those things are not subject to the kind of technology you are talking about, they are matters of the heart and soul. I know you love Duragloss products (and so do I) so you should understand as well as anyone that technology is not enough because even products as good and "technologically advanced" as Duragloss require user experience, technique and know-how combined with the science of the product to produce a true work of art (which many paint details, especially of neglected or destroyed cars, really turn out to be). Duragloss products are advanced but not so much so that you can go through the process blindly. I believe we at this forum do our thing because we think it is fun, we love our cars and want to take care of them and most of all, we have pride in our accomplishment.

To me, as far as detailing products go, I don't mind working a little for that great shine, in fact, I welcome it although that sentiment may be in the minority. I want technology to make my life a little easier of course, but not so much that it takes away the heart and soul of my accomplishment - that takes the fun out of it. And I believe that basically just squirting something on paint and walking away does exactly that, no matter the greatness of the technology involved.

While I don't agree with you in this instance, I totally get where you're coming from.

It's the same as I feel with automatic cars. The spirit and joy is just not the same as driving a manual car... even if the automatic version is faster.

Yes, that is basically the direction I'm coming from. I have fun with this detailing stuff and I think it is good for the soul. I'm afraid someday detailing will no longer exist as a fun hobby. It will just be seen as a chore that has to be addressed in the fastest, most efficient manner possible and with no individual effort or thinking. A lot of things in life have evolved to this.

I know what you mean....When I "break open" a coat of wax a smile comes to my face. Something about the perfect paint under the film and the satisfaction of removing the hazed product with a high quality, super soft towel. Ahhhh.....pure joy.
