$30 Wax that Beats Zymole Royale ($8,500)?!

I guess Paul Dalton will need to drop Crystal Rock and go to the waxes listed here. I've said this before and I'll say it yet again. For the money, Dodo Juice Supernatural is the best wax on the market.

I respectfully disagree. There is no "best wax" on the market. That statement is very subjective.

You can get any wax, doesnt matter what brand or how much money you blow on it, and have 10 different people try it. You will get 10 different results. Everyone likes to argue about car wax, because we all feel "our wax" looks the best. Reality then sinks in, that the top tier waxes like Zymol, Swissvax, Mitchell & King, Migliore they all look very similar. People dont understand that car wax can only achieve so much gloss, a point in which cost doesnt justify any "better looks", just a statement of ones pocket book. My vote goes to the Zymol line when talking about show car LSP's. Who puts on expensive waxes on daily drivers anyway?
 
There are a lot of cheaper waxes and sealents that are just as good as the more expensive ones. Collinite waxes and Duragloss sealants.come to mine.

While they may give you similar looks, and to the untrained eye might look the same, there is a difference in competition level LSP's. The difference is very very mininal, but when your in a show car competition every bit counts.

As someone who dumps stupid amount on LSPs and has experience on both ends of the spectrum (no wife or kids and I don't golf) I will explain how a $30 wax and a $10k wax differs.

For one, I would like to point out that most waxes when freshly applied (within a day of their set curing time) they all look fairly similar. Some more glossy/wet than others, but for the purpose of this explanation, lets say equal.

Now how glossy and hydrophobic that wax stay with time and wear is where they differ. Most cheaper waxes need to be awakened with a QD every so often to keep that pop. Take a higher end wax like SV Shield (toughest wax on the market) that will last 6-12 months on a daily driver (I have tried and it totally does) 5 months after winter DDing it still pops and sheets water like a permanent coating, you see what your money is buying.

Recently at Autoobessed, I saw when well driven Gallardo that had Crystal Rock on it for a year and GT500 Super Snake 1000 (softest paint in the world, literally) with Crystal a few days old, they both had equal pop and hydrophobic properties.

Now of course not all waxes are equal and really you need to choose an LSP that suits you. As far as I am concerned, as long as you are concerned about the LSP and you make sure it is always applied, you are a million steps ahead of the people who get their cars detailed and dont care!

Really? I wouldn't have anything else. It does glare a bit on red colors. I've had my wooden pot for a very long time. Once in a while I will put it in the oven at like 150 and remix it.

I would also like to bring attention to a wax nobody ever looks at. Griots Premium Car Wax. For a $40ish wax, it is shockingly good! Can't comment on the durability, but it looks great!

Really? You have experience with a lot of waxes if I recall... What can you compare it to?

I'm referring to Supernatural Hybrid which doesn't come in a wooden pot if I'm not mistaken. I've just tried Supernatural wax and for me it looks a lot better albeit quite hard to spread due to the hardness of the wax.

Sure do! This is it on my standard Wash-Clay-Wax package. No correction or filler. Taken in my shop area with my iphone, but you can still see some good gloss

I would say its "wetness" is higher than Pinnacle Souveran. Pretty much on par with looks to Supernatural, even give SV Onyx a ride for its money. Now I really don't know how durable (only used it on clients so far), but with a good correction and glaze underneath, its a real gem. The wax itself is an off white yellow, very velvety smooth to the touch (in the can) wipes on and off super easy. I also like that the can is really wide, easy to get the applicator in. More people need to try it! For the price too, cant go wrong.
