OK so I am a nooby, please tell me what the "Vehicle Inspection Form" is? Thanks.

It's a form you use to inspect the condition of a vehicle with your customer before you work on the car.

It's a chance to document any pre-existing damage so you don't get blamed after the fact.

It's an opportunity to not only evaluate the car but also your customer to find out what they want and what their expectations are and then match your services to your customer and in some situations even turn a customer down if you find they have unrealistic expectations.

It's also a chance to upgrade them to a higher package at a higher price point where the package better matches their expectations.

FIRST

I'd like to say thank you to everyone for being patient. As I type this reply it's Tuesday morning, the following Tuesday after my September 2014 Detailing Boot Camp Class.

That means since I sent the form out last Friday I've been a little bit busy working with my class to detail 6 different cars in 2 days covering pretty much every aspect of interior and exterior car detailing.

Yesterday, that would be Monday, I spent 5 hours minimum cleaning up the garage and returning 4 of the 6 cars to their owners. THEN I started processing some of the 800 pictures taken over the 2 day course to share them in the above thread.

So "yes" I've been a little bit busy.

I've subscribed to this thread, for forum newbies that don't know what that means it means I get an e-mail every time someone "replies" to this thread. So I'm very well aware that 60+ people have replied to this thread since last Friday when I was setting up for the weekend class.

So again, thank you for your patience, with 20 years of posting to detailing discussion forums now under my belt please rest assured I am not slack in my job.... just taking care of the people that signed up for and attended my full-on, detailing boot camp class.


SECOND

I just compiled an e-mail list of the 60 people that have replied to this thread and sent out VIF Version 1.5

So it's in the mail!


Now I'm going to reply to everyone that has posted to this thread since last Friday, some of you please read my reply to you. Thank you.

Looks great Mike Milwaukee is misspelt under the rotary brand names. But like I said looks fantastic I like it much better than the old one.

Already received. I don't know why my Apple mail considered this as junk mail (maybe because it was sent to a disclosed list), just for you to beware and look at it at your spam folder.

Pictures & Comments: Sept 2014 Detail Boot Camp Class


Finished off yesterday's class with good food and fun at the Marriott Lounge last night, in about an hour we start up day two. Here's a few pictures of completed projects from yesterday's class.

We restored a perfect, show car finish to the award winning 1956 Dodge Lancer

We removed the most atrocious swirls and scratches from the 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II

We restored the original antique single stage paint on the 1967 Continental

We learned how to machine wet sand and use rotary buffers using this 1939 LaSalle

We also did a full interior and exterior detail on a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country Van, worked on the exterior of a 2000 Camaro. Sanded and polished headlights, did a cosmetic engine detail and machine polished glass....
