Guys I'm still new on the site.. Just wanted to say thks to everyone for all there help so far.. I washed, clay, used cleaner wax, duragloss polish then wolf gang sealant few weeks back. I was totally happy with the results. I got home today and couldn't resist using the collinite 845 that I also bought.. I gotta say I'm totally shocked at the results. I researched alot, so I decided to put it on by hand so i wouldn't put on too thick. Btw it's 08 f250 white. It's the best I have ever seen white vehical. It has a deep wet look now. I'm not sure if it looks so good because I topped the sealant or if it's just the 845.. I would highly recommend the 845 on a white vehical for sure..anyways thought I would share my experience.. Thks again too everyone!! Now gotta start on rest of truck:)

I'm guessing it is.. Sorry others with more experience will have to answer if it's carnauba or not.. All I know is its the very best product I have seen on white to date.. Usually white didnt pop like mine is now.. It really stands out..
 
845 is considered by many to be a hybrid, and treated as a sealant, most people i've seen normally top 845 with a 'nuba wax of their choosing.
 
Just ordered 4 bottles of 845 - it is a great product! VERY slick, looks great, and long lasting - can you really beat that?
 
Can you put 845 on by hand with rubber gloves or does it have to be with bare hands? Thanks in advance:)

Nice job. I wish there were pics here so we can see the deep wet look. That said, in the future if you know you are going to polish then you don't need the "cleaner/wax" step. Also, as for the cleaner/wax step itself.... if you know you will be topping the car with 845 then consider using a dedicated pre-wax cleaner ( sans wax ) or polish (like you did with the DG )

There is nuba in 845. It is so durable though that it falls under a hybrid/sealant category and is the sealant and LSP choice for many people.

If you ever get on the kick to save some cash then eliminate Opti-seal from the process anytime 845 is going to be applied. At least wait 5 months until 845 begins to visibly degrade and then you can top it with Opti-seal.

When applying by hand, using gloves is always preferred because long-term no one has a clue how it affects the body; especially considering all the other stuff you get your hands on unique to your lifestyle.
 
I was using other waxes and then I was told 845 is really good. I was stunned to see how much more the water beaded than other wax.

Thks for the advice!!!! I just thought I read that after clay you had to use cleaner wax.. Good to know that I don't need the wax if I'm gonna polish.. What do you guys use after the 845 to keep it looking great? More applications? Or a spray wax?

Since it contains carnauba why would someone top it with more carnauba? I've been on these, and other detailing forums, a long time and have never heard of anyone topping #845 with another carnauba. It seems rather pointless to me to top the longest lasting wax with a lesser wax that will be gone in a very short time.

Personally, I separate in my mind a maintenance detail versus a correction detail. This is how my mind works.....

Different types of products are used in each. For instance, a cleaner/wax would hardly ever be attributed to a correction detail just like a compound wouldn't be used in a maintenance detail. A fine-cut polish could be used in either detail, so to make it simple if it is a pure polish with no AIO characteristics it falls under a correction detail (for me). If there are AIO characteristics in the polish then it goes to maintenance. You may see it differently and that's fine. The major goal I look to achieve is to never load up on correction detail type products when/if most of my work will be maintenance. Saves money and shelf-space in the long-run and is less confusing.

What do you guys use after the 845 to keep it looking great? More applications? Or a spray wax? You won't need to do much to maintain 845. If the paint was prepped well enough and you don't abuse the vehicle then you will likely see 4 months of durability minimum. A gentle wash or QD will maintain the protection until your next detail. I have Optimum Instant Detailer and UWW+ and use it when necessary. Worst case scenario for me is I apply some Optimum Car Wax (OCW).

Does anyone have an opinion on using 845 on chrome exhaust tips after polishing? I'm wondering if the heat would cause it to melt right off.

I'm aware of other products like RejeX that are recommended for exhaust tips, but RejeX requires 12 hours to cure and it's not always possible to wait 12 hours before using a vehicle.

After some more research to test my theory I am updating my response. Give Collinite a call and see what they say. Some waxes may flash off due to low melting points in the 150-200 degree F range. A synthetic paint sealer or Collinite 850 may be the trick for you.
