So it's been a while since I've done a write up and felt it was time I got back at it...

2013 Subaru BRZ in for paint correction and Opti-Coat Pro application. Owner lives just over 2hrs away so no pre-inspection was possible on this one and we just scheduled it for a 1-step correction and coating.

The time frame on this one was also a little tighter than I'm used to as I normally start on my cars Friday night, getting them all washed and prepped. Then Saturday I come in and I will polish and coat the vehicle and leave it inside overnight to cure. With this job the client couldn't leave until Saturday morning because of work, and it was about 10:35 Saturday morning when he pulled up. After pulling the car in and inspecting the paint I could see the sides were pretty swirled up from "slap n' scratch" washes, likely done at the dealership since the owner never brought it through one. The tops were in pretty good shape though so I knew a 1-step would be fine there, but the sides I wasn't so sure on. The owners ride to the hotel arrived shortly after and I just told him I'd contact him if there were issues. After doing a few test spots I decided to just 2-step the lower sides panels as there were far to many deeper defects left behind from the 1-step combo.

Process:

Wash - ONR, MF towels for wash media, boars hair brush for cracks, crevices, emblems with OPC
Wheels - Sonax Full Effect, various brushes and wash mitt
Tires - OPC, Tuf Shine tire brush, dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing 4:1
Decon - IronX, Speedy Prep Towel with Glide for lube
Paint correction - D300/Megs MF Finishing discs on lowers and rids with Rupes LHR21 and LHR75, Finished with Sonax PF on the Rupes LHR21 and G110v2 with LC tangerine pads.
Coating Prep - Eraser wipe-down 2x with Great White MF towels (6 towels)
Coating - Opti-Coat Pro with CarPro micro suede applicators on paint, trim, lights, and wheels (face and barrels)

Pics (none prior to wash, sorry)

Sun was really trying to pop out from behind the clouds, but unfortunately it didn't happen until after the owner picked up the car. :(

As always, thank you for taking the time to view my work. :)

Great work, as usual!

I'm sure the owner was thrilled! Gotta love that metallic black paint when it is in perfect condition like that!

Nice job . It looks amazing. Can't wait to do up my new ride.

Metallic really shows up well now, great results on a new vehicle!

Man, you know you're good when people come and stay in a hotel to get their car done by you.

ALWAYS love reading about your work. I can only imagine the smile on the customer's face.

Great work and those wheels are a pain to clean, huh?

Rasky does it! Nice garage setup too.

Looks great. Just wondering do u like the led lights or brickman for checking out swirls?

Thanks again guys! :)

I actually didn't clean them until they were off the car so they were pretty easy to clean that way. ;)

nice work, whats story on that sick lift you use?

It seems to depend on the paint and/or the type of defect. I like and use both but probably use the Brinkmann the most. My LED is a Fenix TK15 and it's great for seeing faint micro marring. :)

Seriously amazing work, Chad!!! I love reading your write ups and seeing the pictures of your details. It always comes out awesome!
