Close 56 and my 6 pack is Coors :xyxthumbs:

LMAO dam your old... 1957 model here!

I enjoy my beers one day a week.. on Saturdays ... hurry up tomorrow lol.
When you watch your weight your allowed to have a cheat meal now and then. I don't cheat with food. I cheat with cold beers!

I did p90x for about 1 month. Then one morning I started getting a heavy chest couldn't breathe real good at all . This went on for about 3 days then I was like I need to go to the hospital . So I went I told the dr i was having chest pain and suffering. Lil did I know that if you go to the er with chest pain then they take that as high risk for chance of a heart attack. So the wheeld me back to a room in a wheel chair . Hooked me up to heart monitors and iv fluids. Monitored me for about 4 hours . They found nothing wronge with my heart . Asked what kind of activities I've been doing and I said I ve been doing p90x . So they looked some more and found that I had pulled a chest muscle . And that was what was making me short of breath and having chest pain . Never started p90x agin . It is a great work out and tuff . I guess I just went to hard or wronge techniques. Lol

My best friend back in 98 complained of chest pains, went to the Dr and he told him he'd pulled a chest muscle, told him to take Ibuprofen... he died three days later from heart failure. If he would have went the the ER he would probably be here today. You did the right thing. Still to this day I blame that damned quack for my best friends death :(

Man you guys are killing me here! I got a six pack too... I think it's in the fridge downstairs. Yeah, that's it! Too bad I'm to freaking crippled to go down there and get it!

Actually I've all but given up beer. If we buy a 6 pack it ends up going old. Now some nice wine and that's another story. ;) Then again.... on the weekend (or any other time for that matter) when I'm grilling and know I want a glass of red with dinner I have to skip my meds. Been a chronic pain patient for 11 years now. Take as many pain pills as I do and literally any 'drinking' just turns out to be not so much fun at all. :( (As I stand here now with a huge ice pack strapped to my back.)

Seems there are several '57' models around here. ;) I'd gladly swap with a few of ya' to be a bit more mobile and actually DO cardio. Then again... I wouldn't wish my back pain on my worst enemy. You know how you've seen the sig line on MOL about how "this hobby is supposed to be your therapy, not the reason you need therapy". Well it IS my therapy. I've found I can sometimes work through much more pain than if I was just sitting inside watching TV. Sometimes to the point to where when I stop I literally drop. Same thing as a guy at the gym I guess when he just falls down after a hard workout. :dunno: The difference is... once I drop I don't get back up till the next day.

My son OTOH, He's 19 and about to finish his personal trainer certification. Now THAT boy works out. He's huge into Cross Fit and HIIT type workouts. Makes me tired just watching! I built him a pull up bar out back that's almost 8' up. Took two 12' 4x4's and sunk them 32", put a 8' fence rail across the top. He'll do pull up's on one end and push up over the top. The other end he's got a pair of 'blasters' he calls them. Straps that you put your arms in (tricep side) with your hands upwards and just blast the living crap outta' your stomach doing leg lifts. They are so far up he has to get on a ladder!

Lil' dude with work out back there, both on the bar and we got him a set of Rouge bumper weights for Christmas. Then go do 2~3 laps around the sub division (3 miles per lap), then come back and do push ups and more pull ups, and throw them darned weights. I'll hear them banging off the ground all darned day. He'll get bored and WHAM you'll hear him out there with the bumper plates. Just makes me laugh sometimes. ;)

Oh well.... that's the extent of my working out. Time to go charge the ol' laptop battery for now.

Later dudes!

Man I wish I could pull over the top! I just can't brake the plane from pull and push myself up and over. Don't know what I'd do up there if I did

Tuesdays are my push-up pull-up days. 3 sets of 25 pull-ups, one set morning, noon then evening.

Push-ups (last tues) personal record is 270 split into three sets, all sets within 11 minutes, each set to failure (104 + 83 + 83). I guess not to bad for a 1957 model lol

Yup lil' dude he has a Body Solid 5 station machine in the gym downstairs. Got it for a steal Christmas of 2011 off CL. New replacement for it is $3895, we paid like $600 for it. :dblthumb2:
Body Solid even stands behind them for LIFE in a non-commercial environment. The main cable was wearing and when I called them they sent an entire set! :)

You'll not find me even getting up TO the plane, much less breaking over!

Funny how degenerative disc disease takes the fun outta' working out.
Freaking L5 disc slipped a bit yesterday and I lay there and twitched in bed from 1:45 till 4:15 this morning trying to go to sleep. (And that's just part of the problem, still have C4/5/6 & T5/6/7, plus L4/5, S1 ) I'm actually ½" shorter than I used to be! :( What, 270 push ups in a freaking day! I've not done that many in uh... I dunno.... 15 years or more!

I guess not!!! ;)

Leemee seee.... for a 57 model.... hmmmm.... dude you are

Yea but the alternative to old stinks. My fitness is like a roller coaster ride. At 49 I decided to get back into shape worked out every day for 2 months then starting the 3rd month took Sundays off. Kept to a strict but healthy diet mostly fish, chicken fruits and vegies. Workout was 1 hr walking, 20 minutes weights, 20 min situps and stretching. Lost 5lbs a week for 10 weeks. Hit my goal and maintained it for 2 years then stopped working out and started eating junk again. Ha the roller coaster ride of fitness. I'll echo what others have said diet controls weight workouts help but not as much as healthy eating. Kind of similar to polish provides 90% of shine wax is the last 10%. Like how I transitioned back to detailing.

Good thing I don't drink anymore

If anyone needs a copy of Insanity, PM me. You all have to try his new series called Asylum!

That is an awesome garage setup you got. I'd wish I have something like that someday. I see that you got to power racks. Is one of them specific for something?

Also gives me some more motivation to reach my fitness goals. I've only had a six pack like 2-3 years ago when I was doing tons of cardio in the gym AND P90x plyometrics almost everyday. Sadly I lost a lot of muscle and learned from that mistake. Now I'm at 170lbs. I would like to lose maybe 8-10 lbs to get my six packs again.

I bet it must suck cutting weight. I cut weight once for a weight lost contest at work lost about 7lbs in 24hrs..lol. but i see what all MMA fighters and boxers go tru. I use to weight 240lbs. Down to 185lbs. Goal is 175lbs

Good for you, David. Take your time losing that last 10 lbs.
1 lb. per week would be fine.

unfortunate news i placed 3rd :( after all that lol

This thread brings me back to my high school wrestling days. I cut from mid 160's to 135-140 every season. My brother and a few friends would always wait to long of and have to cut extreme amounts in days. I coached for several years as well and was glad to see new rules get put in place that monitored and stopped the extreme weight loss in short time frames. it simply is not safe and very unhealthy. Get caught with a bag or sauna suit now and your in big trouble. Not to mention they tell you exactly how much weight you can lose a week safely.

Replied. I will send it first thing when I get in to work.

Hey better than nothing.. was it jiu jitsu torney?

yea i hear ya.
couple MMA guys have bad kidneys cause of extreme weight cuts.
but i like to weigh as close as i can to my competition weight and cut maybe like 5 or 4 lbs water weight.

Thats good for your first tournament. I used to roll with a friend of mine just for exercise.its one hell of a workout. His a brown belt use to tap me out like nothing. But after 1month of rolling with him I was able to hang with some blue belts

yea thats the thing when rolling with the same person over and over again you kinda learn his habits and go to moves. eventually you react faster when a lower belt tries it on you and your able to defend against it allot better.
since i was a white i could always beat most blue belts cause i started with wrestling and BJJ guys struggle with wrestlers. I just had to put the time in and win a couple white belt tourneys to get promoted to blue
