Horrible things you've seen walking by cars.

My dad's '06 Tacoma is suffering from some crazy CC failure. Factory paint is so thin. If I could afford it, I'd probably get a much harder clear coat applied on my car. Nice and thick to hopefully withstand whatever comes it way from the road and the environment.

Seeing CC failure makes me worry about my own car. =O Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but I haven't seen any 2006+ Mazda's with CC failure so I think I'll be alright. I'm hoping that the OEM paint is of a decent quality. =D

My Mom's Honda Element has some of the most neglected paint I've seen and it has yet to see any CC failure. On the other hand, a neighbor of mine has the same year and model of Element with horrifying CC Failure. It makes you wonder why two cars that are otherwise alike would be so different in how the paint system stands up.

Both my mom's and my neighbor's Elements are kept outside. It boggles my mind. =O Maybe my neighbor's element saw a bad batch of clearcoat?

There's a Honda Civic Si in my apartment complex and only the roof of the car has probably 80-90% CC failure, but the rest of the paint looks to be in good condition.

My dad's truck has CC failure on the passenger doors, some bubbling on the hood and lots of bubbling on the roof. My dad has had the truck brand new since 2006, he'll be 59 this year, so he's not always busting his rear end keeping the paint looking like a show car finish, but paint this day and age is just so thin. And being a Toyota and how they're always under the microscope for every little thing they do and do wrong, Toyota paint is probably the thinnest of all.

I have a 2013 Scion tC and on the way into work one day, my box cutter caught the door edge and actually took some paint off with no effort whatsoever. My box cutter clips on to my pocket for easy access, and I got too close when shutting my door, I guess. I've touched that area up well enough that I don't even notice it, but it took no effort at all to get a chunk of paint to come off.

Driving thru Oklahoma on I-35 last summer and a lowered silverado passed me on, I'm sure his custom built wooden spoiler on the bed made that bad boy fast. Wish I had pics.

Also, flew into Regean Intl a couple weeks ago, found our way to enterprise car rental … they had a couple black BMWs and Audi's parked close to the door. They were all swirled up, highlighted by the overhead lights. My guess was the 'cleaning team' used gas station bug squeegees and dirty rags. I had to stop looking at the other cars while we made our way out the parking garage … every last one was in need if reconditioning.

This made me cringe. Its a Pontiac Acadian which was a Canadian exclusive version of the Chevy Nova. Well this guy lifted his and put a giant spoiler along with ugly vinyl graphics on the side.

He was just trying to show GM they really could've made crossovers back in the early to mid 60's.....A!

A guy has an old mercedes-benz with obvious clearcoat damage/peeling and he pulls out his towel and wipes his entire car including wheels, as well as another guy who has a black suv and im guessing 22 rims and does a similar thing.oh and a guy who has a charger mopar edition and he mentions how he uses windex.to clean his wheels and says it makes them shine really good..i told him that he shouldnt be using that, he replies the guy at autozone recommended it. I give him an analogy, i say wheels are similar in ways to your car paint they have a clearcoat on them, would you use windex on your car paint, he replies no. And that was the end of that convo lol

That sounds like an amazing idea. Imagine the new customers that a few AG business cards could bring to our favorite supplier!

I would definitely pass them out.

There could be a referrel bonus when passing them out if the person signs up to the site AND buys something, good way to grow the site, the business and educate more and more people out there!

Well, there used to be a place called Adult World near where I live, many years ago. Oddly enough, it was located at a rather large intersection with traffic lights in a place called King if Prussia. One day I was sitting at the light in my car and just staring at the place, looking into a parking lot, waiting for the light to change.

I saw a guy sitting in the front seat of his car, by himself. I was wondering, "why is this guy just sitting in the parking lot of "Adult World" in the middle of the day?" Just kind of sitting there, relaxing. Wouldn't a park be better?

A second later, another guys head "popped up" from under the dash. I no longer wondered why he was sitting there.

Just the other day I was stuck in traffic , I was watching a guy at a detail shop wash a new Camero, instead of dropping the terry cloth towel in the bucket he'd dropped it on the concrete then continued to wash the car , I was happy when the traffic starting moving again.

Most people buy cars for transportation. They will buy the make and model the suits their tastes and pocket books.
Most like a nice clean car, but do not look at cars the way we do. They generally think people like us as being anal. A quick trip to the car wash will do. They seem to have better thing to do then spend hours detailing their car. They will not pay some one an outlandish amount of money to do a top quality detail.

They use their cars in manner that suits their need. I wonder who gets the laugh them or us.

I worked the Russo and Steal Auction last month and car across this Spiker that had a $22 buff job done to it.
