Finally had a chance to play with my new toys (7424xp and Menzerna polishes 1000, 2500 & 4000). I only had a chance to do a small section, so I did the trunk since it was easy enough to do without having to tape anything up first. Came out pretty decent for a first try. The car is a 2004 545i (BMW).

Quite a difference for no more time than I put into it.

These acid rain spots are all over the car, so I'll be working on those in the next week or two.

Thanks! Yeah it's going to look really good I think after I have a weekend free to spend on doing the whole car.

The paint is in relatively good shape, no major dings and not many deep scratches. It's just been ran through a few too many automatic car washes.

Also, how the heck do you guys use a DA polisher for hours at a time? My hands were going numb after just a few minutes, lol

7424 likes speed 5 or lower. Speed 4-5 can do most everything you need to do otherwise move over to the mf system for the compounding stage.

Looks great. I'd say you've got the hang of it.

Gotcha, yeah around 5 seemed to work best. Sometimes it would vibrate the heck out of me and sometimes it wouldn't be so bad. I'm sure I'll figure something out

You must be quite pleased with the results.
Trunk looks great, no more swirls, only reflections.

now you can show off your work to your friends and do details for them

yea at speed 6 it just shaked the heck out of your arm and gets "squirrelly" sometimes keep 'er at 5 maybe 4 once you get to the last stage fine polish or wax

For wax speed 3 feels pretty good on the PC. You don't need much speed to spread a thin coat of wax.

Nothing better than a perfectly polished Jet Black car. Helpful tip though, go out and get yourself some high quality wash mitts and towels or the next time you wash the car, you're going to get those swirls right back. (Ask me how I know :()
