Northern Virginia team detail anyone?

I'd say for a first run it was very successful. I'm too tired now to post more details but I met a great crew, tried some new machines- rupes 21, flex da, Makita rotary - and hope to get back together again.

We just finished about an hour ago...it was great.

Will update with more info soon. Met and made some new friends today and got to try so many products.

Would love to do it again fellas. We have many funny stories and quips to go along. Stay tuned.

I just woke up and checked AG. I forgot all about this. No good excuse. Sorry guys. Hope it was fun.

I had a little get together yesterday with a newer forum member at my shop. It is a lot of fun meeting some of the guys who post here over a low pressure detailing project. If you guys do this on a regular basis, I'd someday like to make the trip and hang out with the crew and contribute a little. These type of get togethers add to the spice of life for sure.

Anyone take photos?

We'd love to have you, Dave. A lot of pictures were taken by JaSou, Xtitan, and Son1c, and XT took some video of the detailing process and candid interviews :)

Awesome!! I look forward to seeing some of the photos, videos and especially the candid interviews. Thanks for the reply and invite!!

The videos will be informative and hilarious, due to the "on the spot" nature... ha!

Big "atta-boy" goes to XT, as he had the least hands experience than the rest, but he jumped right in with the 3401 and practically buffed out the entire driver's side of the challenger, all while asking questions and learning the detailing process as he went!

That was the best part for me, us being able share the knowledge gleaned from the boards and our own hand experience and have someone 'fresh' be able to apply that knowledge straight away and be successful.

Cool!! I can dig that for sure.

I had Kyle-Elantra up at the shop yesterday and he was pretty much the same way. Having never run any kind of real polisher before, I had him running the rotary, the 3401 and the regular DA polishers on an old school bus that I've been doing some work on.

It's really cool to see a new guy like that grabbing those tools and apply some common sense and good orderly direction to work past the fear of doing so without the guidance of a more experienced detailer. We had fun for sure. Perhaps one day Kyle and I will both end up down there at a NOVA get together.

That'd be awesome if you guys could make it out to one of the future ones, good consensus on trying to push one a month

Should have a chance to get my media uploaded and posted tonight

Had a great time and encourage others to try and make it out to the next one!

Big thanks to jake jsou to making it happen!

As of right now let's plan on the weekend 20-21 or 28-29 if everyone else is on board?

I wish we would've gotten more media but we were busting out the details and showing each other several different techniques. A few members asked about you, hopefully you can make the trip the next time.

I'm going to laugh so hard at those videos. Very unexpected but I loved the enthusiasm from Rob (xtitan1).

I will have to cosign with Steve here, much props to Rob. He asked questions and when given information, he took it, ran with it, and put in work. :dblthumb2:

Wish I had that much experienced members to help me when I first started out.
