Well guys, I can't thank you all enough for attending. I love what we've started here.
Friday night was a rush preparing for the day of the meet. Another broken pressure washer had us running out to get a new one.
Tommy & I were prepping two Honda Civics for polishing before the weekend was over. We replaced the headlights on one vehicle and the other received a full decontamination before we decided to call it a night at 5am.
8:30am arrives and I get a text and call from Kyle (Zach) asking if I was still sleeping...dude I apologize again. I was way too deep in my Bugatti detailing dream. :nomore:
After the gathering was done at about 10pm. I sat down ate my first meal, then it was back in the garage with Tommy.
We still had two civics to do remember? We don't stop here in SUNNY HAMILTON, VA!
We finished up one Civic at about 3am. 10 am on Sunday comes around and it's go time on the other Civic.
My family comes over and we get sidetracked cleaning their cars and detailing the engine bays of each one...holy crap we're a production shop now!
Back to the Civic, we wrapped things up at about 2am this morning.
In short, it was a grinding weekend and I slept like a baby for the 13 hours total I got to sleep this weekend. I've learned a lot and met some really great group of guys who share the same passion of the art of detailing. This I wouldn't trade for the world.
Until next time my friends.
I just wanted to thank you again for allowing Colt and I to join in your team detailing get together. We had a very nice time to say the least. You are a really nice group of guys for sure, and I hope that we can join in again sometime. It is a beautiful drive down there too.
(Kyle...if you're reading this...it took me just 2 hours to get back home....Pick up the pace Son...LOL...)
Dave it was a pleasure to have you. It was really great to have a veteran there sharing stories and discussing technique.
Thanks for the samples BTW, I will be trying them out on a production detail I have scheduled.
Colt was awesome. The next time you make the trip, I will let him run around with Torch. They love the backyard!
I had a WONDERFUL time meeting new friends and sharing ideas and techniques with the team. It really was a great time all around and i look forward to the next event.
I am so glad Dave made the trip down. Good conversation and insight from a veteran in our field and its always an honor to learn from the best.
Thanks to Jake for being a gracious host and providing the location in "Sunny Hamilton, Virginia!"
Good times friends, now wheres the pics!!
Glad to have met ya Matt! Also glad I made a believer in the Rupes! Such a comedic crowd and "It's always sunny in Hamilton, VA!"
Sounds like it went off again without a hitch... Wish I could have made it again...

Sure did. We missed ya Steve.
Great times, really had a blast with everyone. Thanks to Jake for once again providing food, water, and a place to enhance the craft and artistic skills. S0N1X, friend me immediately for my input on the homebrew.
I will be posting more pics as soon as possible. Looking forward to hosting the next meet in August. If all goes as planned it will be in an air conditioned warehouse with plenty of lighting and room for about 3-4 cars inside.
Until next time! :buffing:
Thanks to Jake Sourivong and the rest of the Team Rupes Detailing Group of NoVA, had a blast yesterday. Long, hot, sweat-filled day, with the rest of the gang. Shout out to the homeboys, Blitz, JSOU, S0N1X, "ZackElantra", BodyShop, Tuscaurora Dave, AJ, Al Boogie, and my favorite Displaced Asian Tommy.
Massive thanks to Master HomebrewDrew a.k.a. S0N1X. Drew showcased his cooking meets science with his latest batches of homemade boutique waxes. S0N1X's number 36 (blue) wax was best of show IMHO among the 5+ homebrew waxes that he brought. All of his waxes were applied in full sun with surface temp well past 120*F, impossibly long working time, again in full sun, both hand (yep hot enough to burn) and also pad application. Wipe on, 15 minutes later, wipe off, did I mention FULL SUN?? Excellent beading, no residue, cleans up, apply thick or thin, there not many waxes that I have used which is so safe, so smooth, so user friendly, can't wait to try the next batch.
so drew man, shut up and take my money brah.
Looking forward to our next meet.

Grill Master Lee. Always a pleasure my friend. The hand applying on the scorching hot panels and us wimpering as we quickly apply,
and Dave's comment: "Hand applying wax? I've only seen that online on YouTube." LMFAO
I will remember it for life.
incredible time with everyone, I don't think I made friends there, thinking some friends for life I have a ton of media I need to compile and upload should have it all together within the next several hours big shout out to jake for hosting
buff lee, sunny hamilton blitz, tusc dave, colt, aj, a, tommy, hon/uncle, sean zach thanks for everyone coming out --- again awesome time
Exactly man. As discussed, I know many people give you crap on the forums but having your company at the past 2 meets...screw what anyone thinks. It's all love brah. We love your HDR pix.
I failed, I left my camera in the car. next time...FROM SUNNY HAMILTON VIRGINIA!!
Yeah man... you really do need to post that video.:xyxthumbs:
I have a secret copy. LOL!
wow sounds like I missed out for sure on this one!!! My wife brought home surprise guests from PA so I had to back out the morning of ( I had the GTI ready to go to!) but ill keep planning to attend as long as the NoVA meets keep happening.
Was really bummed out to hear you couldn't make it Jeremy. We are already brainstorming for another one. We found out quickly that we have a very skilled group of detailer's here in NOVA.
Stay tuned.
:dblthumb2:
I had a blast, and met some wonderful new people and kept on learning. As the resident newbie I felt welcomed, and everybody's patience with my entry level questions was really appreciated.
Jsou thank you for graciously hosting us - in none other than Sunny Hamilton Virginia - and for sharing your knowledge ( and Rupes)!
I was able to put the skills I'd learned here, from Dave, and from everybody else there to practice and remove some RIDS from my car - I'm still completely ecstatic that I was able to accomplish this.
If it weren't for Sean's eyes though, I'd still have them. You have to give my the info for your optometrist.
Matt - thanks for sharing your immense knowledge, pad washer (thanks for showing me where to lose my next $100), and your time. Your "4 minute class" showed that anybody - even me - can achieve amazing results.
I've still got the ProtoWax on the Elantra, it will stay there until I clay the panels (maybe at the next meet), but the trunk has been clayed so I don't plan on touching that. Hand applying wax was HOT, but totally worth it and the working time (in the direct sun!) was truly impressive. Shut up and take my money Drew! FYI - it rained that night and Sunday morning the tire shine was no more. ProtoWax beading is incredible though! :xyxthumbs:
Lee, Son1x is close enough; maybe we'll just rename him too

Looking forward to your proposed meetup - if it comes to fruition my burnt scalp will thank you. You cook and I'll supervise.
Dave I'm glad that and Colt made the trip, but until the speed limit goes up or insurance rates go down, you will keep on passing me.
Sincerely, Zack
HAHAHA ZACK! I don't know how you got the name but you should change your screen name now.
A couple words of advice. Don't fret and chase after those tiny scratches bro...it'll only make you lose your hair...oh wait.
Until next time my detailing brothers. I will be uploading all of my media...I took so much. Thanks again Lee for letting me use your lens. I hope I did them justice with the pics I will post here.
