is that all thats primarily needed for a mobile car wash set up? aside from the shop vac, brushes, apc, etc, etc.. i have all that

this was just a quick 30 min search to get a general sense of the price and whats needed. ALSO, can anyone recommend a brand name generator that could power a steamer, extractor, shop vac, and pressure washer.. not all at the saw time though :xyxthumbs: budget is around $600-700

Looks like you have the basics down. You might get by with out the water tank by using customers water, waterless and rinse less washing.

Generator...Honda is the best but cost too much for you budget. Figure you'll need 4000 watts for some of the equipment.

You have an on demand pump and pressure washers. To run both, you are talking a lit of watts. Especially to run an electric pressure washer. Can you just have a pump and use a garden hose to rinse after you wash. If you do that you should be OK with 4000 watts.

The pressure washer is self-priming and a pump is not required.

Regarding the foam lance, try this one. It's the EXACT same item everybody else sells.

What generator to buy? What you have to keep in mind is the basic math regarding power is [volts x amps= watts]. The PW runs on 120V, 15A = 1800 watts, which may trip some household circuit breakers/fuzes. Many steamers, vacs and extractors have similar power requirements. Running all 4 items at the same time will require over 7200 watts!!!

If you operate one item at a time, you can squeek by with a 2KW generator but it'd be better to go with a 3-4KW model. The Honda EU models are pricy because they use a pure sine wave inverter which costs much more than a modified sine wave inverter.

Although you are correct on calculating watts, you have to consider that the amp rating is for running amps and pressure washer motor will need a lot more starting amps than that.

What is 12 v pump for if PW is self priming?

Okay, so if i will be relying on customers to provide the electric/water outlet.. will i still need a pressure washer with self-priming?

I think im going that route.. ill buy a pressure washer and all the other things and let customers provide the power/water.. that will bring cost down on my end

I'm looking into setting up something similar, but I think that I may go ahead and get a sprayer tank that's set up for a pump just in case my needs switch from gravity feed to pump feed since the sprayer tanks already have a spot for it.
