Hi everyone!

Im new to AutoGeeks Online store and Forum

Have been a long-time car enthusiast who likes to keep my cars clean and advocate the same to others. never did anything by machine, though
Built up my fair share of OTC products over an ownership span of 2 black sports cars.

Now onto my third car, purchased with 4000kms on the Odometer, decided to get it professionally buffed by a highly recommended "splash n dash" carwash facility.
Results turned out less than desired so i decided to purchase my own Polisher and associated supplies to do the job myself.

have been buying supplies from Local Retailers but then realised choices are greater and prices are cheaper from USA!.

oh mate, it was a fantastic day that was.. har har har

using the 4" CCS pad on speed 4, taking the polisher off the panel a bit too early, i noticed the pad fanning out way more than the 8mm orbit the DAS6Pro is capable of, then the pad and backing plate flew at least 5 meters away

i was also using the 6.5" CCS pad with no problems. when packing up for the day, i noticed what had happened when i teared the pad off the backing plate
i must of been working the machine on a high speed for too long and with too much pressure (i ensured the pad was always spinning) which caused excessive heat to build up around the spindle area of the backing plate, causing the pad to melt.

since then, i have purchased proper Lake Country backing Plates and 5.5" flat pads, bettered my technique and have not encountered similar problems at all.

my advise to anyone willing to listen to a n00b is to ditch the standard plates which come with DAS6Pro Clones
