Bissell

To those with the bissell auto version, hot hot does your heater get? I think mine stopped working.. The light that shows that the heater is on doesn't light up unless I turn the machine on.

I have the proclean with the heater and would never know if its working. I use hot tap water and it goes thru it quick enough in the small tank that it doesn't have time to get warm or cold

I go through it quick too but I felt like it was noticeably hotter when the heater was working at first. After I took out the water bucket and felt the heater is wasn't even that hot that's why I wondered if it even works.
 
Mine will get hot enough to burn my hand if it drips down on it.

Where do you get the new pump? Mine is starting to act up , and I'm sure that's the problem.

Mine doesn't burn my hand. It's just warm, probably from the water from my tap.
I don't know where to get a pump, mine acts up too. It doesn't want to spit out any water when I first start it up. I've just been using my steamer instead since the bissell is just pissing me off lately.
 
I have the little green machine. I absolutelly love it on home carpets. When I tried it on car carpets it seemed to be incapable of draining water. I really don't get it. When I use it Inside it does a fabulous job. In the car... nothing. I don't understand you guys are all positive about it for cars...

I have not tried it on car seats, maybe it will do a better job. But for floors, I used half the water tank, plus let's say 8 ounces of carpet cleaner out of a spray bottle. When I was done "extracting" the waste tank had maybe 1/10th of it filled. The rest of the liquid could not be extracted no matter how hard I tried. I am not sure if it is because there is a thick layer of insulation Under the car carpet that absorbs all the water, but I could not get it out.
 
We use it out here because its compact and with time produces great results. When we get back to the states we are getting a professional steam machine for sure!! But in a pinch the green machine works great.
 
I have the little Greek machine with the heat option. If you want to buy one I would suggest bed bath and beyond. You can get it for 99.00 and a 20% coupon. They also will take expired coupons and competitor coupons. I use mine for the head liner, seats, and carpet. The water gets hot and the heater will only work when the unit is running. It will only increase heat around 10 degrees.

You really don't want to use real hot water as that will set the stains and make them difficult to remove.

How will it set the stains if they are already dry and set?
 
I only use the hot water to extract the cleaning solution. Use a spray bottle of something like CG FabricClean diluted in a spray bottle of hot water. Spray the area, let it soak 30-60 seconds, agitate with upholstery brush, then use plain hot tap water in the solution tank to rinse and extract the dirt. As I mentioned, I used this method to clean 10 year old tan carpets and they looked almost brand new. There were some blackish dirty areas I never thought would come clean and they came right out.
 
I got the LGM model when they were on closeout with a rebate at Costco.

For $49.95 I don't really worry about what it won't do. I only use it in the house. Generally just to clean up cat barf. Does a great job of that.
