My first Audi, and it was a beast! S6 Correction, Opti-Coat, and Interior Detail

Really great work! I like the beading pictures. Car is definitely a sleeper to those who don't know Audi models.

My god... I don't treat my $10,000 Pontiac even near that bad. Looks great after you got done with it though.
:dblthumb2:

Great job mate , that guy came to the right place ! lol
Thanks!

Awesome job giving that Audi the attention it deserves! I enjoyed the right up, had a good time reading it!
^I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!

How do you like the DI fine clay? Mine is difficult to reshape. Any tips?
^Never had an issue with it... and I have used a lot of it.

Looks great!
^Thanks!

^Always have to do a few beading pics after applying a coating... too good to pass up! and yeah, this is one quick "family sedan"

"Correction: Menzerna FG400 on 6.5" LC White Polishing Pad"

With Audi having Rock Hard Paint why this Pad instead of something stronger ? Did you feel FG400 plus cutting Pad overkill?

To be honest, I used several different pad combos since the car had several repainted areas, I just kind of got lazy and didn't want to list it all out.

For the OEM Audi paint, I used Orange Light Cutting Pad with FG400, I feel this combo still cuts well enough given that I was only doing a 1 step, didn't leave behind any haze, and left a glossy finish.

For the repainted areas, I used the white pad because the paint was softer and I continued to use the FG400 because the repainted areas had much more defects so I knew I would appreciate the cutting power of the FG400 compared to using something like PF2500.

Like always, you do amazing work! Would love to be able to be just half of a detailer as you, your are one of the best I've seen:)

Wow! Awsome work and great pictures and narrative.

Two questions, had the owner requested a complete multi-step detail where cost was not an issue, what would you have done as far as the exterior? Would you also include Opticoat in that regiment?

Thanks! If a multi-step detail were to be decided on, I would guess I would have done FG400 via MF cutting pads followed by either PF2500 or FF4000 with a finishing pad (assuming a test spot proved that was an effective process). I never include Opti-Coat (or 22ple) as a part of any paint correction job, it is always an additional add-on option. Unfortunately time and money were both a factor in this job so we had to decide what would yield the best results... and since he was a repeat customer of mine, I threw in the interior cleaning on the house to fit his budget... which is why I was "ok" with not making it perfect since he wasn't worried about cleaning it at all in the first place.

Awesome pictures. That rear end is NICE.
:iagree:
