Video - Nanoskin Autoscrub Speedy Prep Sponge Fine Grade (May Challenge Review 4)

Great video once again with fantastic pros and cons. Thanks for sharing. Does it give feedback like clay does once the area goes from dirty to clean?

yes it does :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for watching :)

Nice review. On the subject of marring with fine grade clay/towel..is the reason I don't clay unless I'm going to polish after.

Thanks for watching :) Unfortunately, polishing a car after every time you clay can be more work than most are willing to do or clients' are willing to pay.

Luckily, on most cars, just like clay, there's no marring issues :xyxthumbs:

Great review Roshan! I enjoyed it a lot.

How faster do you think the towel will cover the entire car relative to the sponge?

Looks like the sponge offered from car-pro. Great product

Thanks for watching :)

Thanks for watching Marc!

I would guess not more than 5-10 minutes depending on contamination. Both are speed machines! However, I always fold the towel four ways when using it so the useable face of it is not THAT much bigger than the sponge.

Wish I've seen this video before I bought my towel lol. Much easier on the pocket.

Hey! At least you didn't buy both lol!

But if you consider that the towel can do 4 times more cars than the sponge, you're still ahead price wise :)

Great video Roshan!

I just bought both the fine towel and the fine 4" pads...so I'm looking forward to seeing how they work. Probably overkill...but also picked up the new hand strap so I can utilize the pad in small areas.

Just curious? Have you tried the pads?

Thanks, Roshan, for sharing your video and thoughts on this "clay-alternative". :xyxthumbs:

-I've often wondered exactly what this: Clay-alternative-medium is composed of...
and how it is bonded to its backing material (sponge in this case).

With a product incorporating "Nano-" into its name...
-Should we assume that there is some self-assembly occurring between
the precursor monomer(s) of some conjugated polymer(s)?
-Any synthesizing?
-A two-dimensional thin-film?

And:
-It would seem that if regular auto-clay contains a synthetic-detergent...
that, indeed, these types of clay-alternatives would also.

-Hence, again, a synthesized two-sided molecule (detergent) that could serve as both
an agent for self-assembly and as the monomer of a particular conjugated polymer?

Still to ask...
-Will these thin-films of self-assembled "nano-structures" have pore-sizes
with a fineness rating down to ~0.2 angstroms (0.02nm)?

-How "fine of a rating" do these clay-alternatives really have?

Any thoughts, my Good Sir?

NOTE:
I concur with the following advise:
I don't clay unless I'm going to polish after.

Nice, I think you're going to be set up for a while :)

No I haven't. I have spent enough money on clay alternatives already!!

Bob,

I'd love to know how fine the surface truly is in a quantifiable way, but as of now, all I know is qualitative information: It feels just like clay does when removing the contaminants (grabby and bumpy to eventually smooth).

I'm sorry I wasn't of more help to you :(

As for the polishing after claying, that's definitely the ideal scenario.... however, we don't live in an ideal world. Sometimes you just have to do what you can.

And yet another great review. Soon you're going to need a production staff. LOL

As sad as it is, I think soon I will be off of the forum for quite some time :(

Roshan,
Sad to hear that. I, for one, will miss reading your posts on the forum. I assume it's so you can concentrate on school. I've wondered how you could attend dental school, study, AND detail cars, let alone contribute to the forums as much as you do. But I appreciate your posts. I've found your reviews and tips pretty useful.

Best of luck in dental school and on your career. I hope to see you back on the forums one of these days.

Yeah once dental school starts I'm shutting down detailing for money unless it's a special occasion. I'll only be detailing my own car for the majority and honestly I'll be doing what I should be doing: concentrating on becoming the best dentist I can be.

Hopefully during third and fourth year when I'm only doing primarily clinics I can get back on with some frequency.

It is very sweet to know that some of you guys will miss me, I feel honored :grouphug: :)
