Infinite G37 Help Please

Hey guys been awhile since I have done a detail and had an old friend ask me to do his car. Im looking at the LC Hybrid Finish Pads. Car is in really good condition, looking at using a blue, white, and black with BF products. Side note. looked at the nanoskin autoscrub to use instead of clay kit. Any word on this products? Seems better than actually doing clay by hand. Again, thanks guys for always being here and as always look forward to your comments.
 
Nanoskin for SURE! Have not used clay since I got it. ;) Make sure to keep it lubricated well though. Also, when first getting it make sure to break it in on the glass for a few minutes. It'll look like its foaming a bit and you'll feel it get less grabby... then when it stops foaming up so much it'll be ready to go.

Look under the hood for this:

Then search on Infiniti paint, Ceramiclear, etc.

Some are a royal PITA to work with! Good luck!!! :D
 
What year is the g37? I ask since mine is a '10 and I've had no issues correcting the paint, although it is on the soft side a bit.
 
Cardaddy, I did this car a year ago. I'm lucky that the owner keeps his car in great condition. Better than mine right now sadly. Do you think the pads won't give enough cut?
 
Are you shooting for a show car finish or just the removal of most of the swirls and scratches?
 
Took care of the below 2010 Infiniti G37S (20th Anniversary) and the clear was easily corrected with Menzerna 2500 on an orange LC pad

Infinitis don't have a hard ceramiclear. They are actually pretty soft. My black 2012 FX50 corrected easy with an orange and PF2500.

Not that you won't have enough cut, just that the paint is sometimes a real @%$*& to work with. In other words, if it's like my 06 it is stupidly soft (on the top), yet it'll chip like crazy when it gets hit on the expressway. Mine will scratch if you look at it wrong. :rolleyes:

I've seen guys say they ended up with haze and had to work (extra) to get it all to clear up. The problem of course is just dealing with the self healing clear, which by default has to melt and run... (more or less) for it to 'heal'. Just makes one wonder what the heck they were thinking! :eek:

Certainly its a 'less is more' approach on this one. Never had to use yellow pads on mine that's for sure. But... have had to do two polishing stages to get it to behave like I wanted. Didn't change the pad I was using, just paid more attention to changing up pad pressure in the latter stages.

Jimbob: It just stays so damned soft that it constantly runs together.
Billbob: Oh we'll charge extra for that! :D
 
What did you do to it a year ago? From my experience on a silver G37 the paint was kinda hard on the areas that hadn't been repainted. If the defects aren't more than swirls then start with the white pad and a medium polish and go up or down from there. Test spots of course.
