I washed my tires 6 times. 3 times with A to Z using a stiff tire brush, tires were still brown so I got some Westley's Blech-White and washed each tire 3 more times using a soft brass wire brush. Not much differance. When the tires dried, I got some Mr. Clean magic earaser and tried it on a smooth area of the tire and it removed the brown. Too many groves on the tire to use it on the tire. I had Ultima Tire & Trim on the tires befor washing it off with the A to Z. Any suggestions on getting the brown stuff off would be appreciated.Feed back please

Get Tuff Shine Tire Cleaner and their tire brush. When it comes to cleaning tires, their the expert. Someone also had good luck with Adam's APC, but have have worked well for that person that time. TS has a proven record.

Are you going to apply a tire gel/shine? Sometimes it's not totally necessary to remove all the browning (tires do this naturally, it's not necessarily an indication of dirt), and it may disappear after you shine the tire.

Sometimes it just takes many, many applications to get rid of the brown. When was the last time the tires were scrubbed like this and how old are they?

The truck & tires are 2 years old with 4 thousand miles. I wash the tires with plain auto soap. I rarely drive the truck. I used the A to Z on the tires because the Ultima tire & trim guard started to fade. When I wahed off the Ultima I saw all the brown stuff. Yes I think if I reapplied the Ultima that it will go away but for me that's not the point. I never had this happen in all my years (65). I wan to get rid of the brown befor I apply any dressing on the tires. I just ordered some tuff shine tire cleaner.Hope that works

Zep Fast 505 from Home depot works great also. It's what I use before applying Tuff Shine.

Are you saying use fast 505 then tuff shine tire cleaner?

Mothers Foaming Wheel and Tire Cleaner.

Dude, I have a 13 year old set of tires on my truck, and a 10-12 year old set of tires on my car, and all the tires look new after using their product. Whitewalls/letters are pearly white, and the blackwalls are actually black. Just use a good scrub brush, and you'll be amazed. I can post some photos if you'd like.

All will be changed soon (safety reasons), but they still could pass for new tires.

No just the 505. Or any decent degreaser will work great. You can buy them by the gallon. Dilute it down about to a 50:50 mix and it will work great. Especially with scrubbing the tires. The 505 is a great degreaser. You can buy it already diluted or a gallon concentrate.

okay, between Mother's, 505, Tuff shine tire cleaner,& Griot's. One of these products should do the trick. Home Cheapo is just down the road and I should be able to get the mothers at a local auto parts store. The tuff shine will come in the mail. Hope the problem is fixed by then

Chemical guys all clean + at 1:10 works as well as tuf shine, but Adam's worked the best for me.

Did you try old fashion Comet? Stiff (long shoe type brush) wet the tire first and scrub. Wet the brush and let it (the Comet) make a paste. Really can't have too much of it. It'll cut stuff that otherwise you wouldn't get through. Worth a try.

Will take a TON of rinsing, and I'd also scrub when rinsing as well to get the slippery Comet feel off of it.

Meguiar's Super Degreaser is my favorite and most economical product I've ever used. Reducing 4 parts water to 1 part products gives amazing results...

Comet sounds like it might work. Super degreaser is also worth a shot.

Super degreaser is what I use. You can use it straight of dilute it a little. It works awesome. It does smell a little string though.

ARO does a very good job full strength. If any brown left, I use Mother's Back to Black Tire Renew. I agree Tuf Shine is also excellent. Too many choices to clean tires and everybody has their preference.

At least I have some options. I was so ticked off that I couldn't think straight.
