got approved today to do a basic outside wash and tire dressing and a wax job have like 9 cars to do there mostly black or charcoal grey .. dont need to do a 3 step correction just something quick easy to make the paint look good ive got a griots 6'' da not sure how it will do on the decals

I don't have any personal experience with it but from what I've read Megs D151 should fit the bill.

Be care with the reflective vinyl strips. My suggestion is to avoid them.
IMO just wash dry clay and use D156 and you don't even have to clay. Clean the windows for the guys and sand a quick vacuum wouldn't hurt. That's what I do for our cars.:dblthumb2:

And what if you do mess up the decals? What can they do to ya?

Wash them and wax them. Done. Trust me police cars get the crap beat out of them so it isn't worth the time and effort to do any paint correction. Whoever buys the car after its done as a police car can deal with it as it will be their personal car, but when it's still a police car, don't bother as they are work cars and not personal cars. I would be nervous to clay incase the decals came off :p

Wheels and tires
Wash
Nanoskin wash mitt
Optimum Car wax
Windows
Interior wipe down with Quik Interior Detailer (or similar)
Vacuum

Done! :xyxthumbs:

i like the spray wax idea i've head good things about it... i don't have to worry about the inside only getting 10 dollars a car for a basic wash or 20 to spiff it up a little more for when they have special events parades and such ill prob hand wax it ... have a good wash brush but a decent mitt for around the light bar and what not will come in handy also might get some of that matte tire shine from chemical guys

I would wash them with a strong cheap wash like chemical guys citrus wash and gloss and then Duragloss aquawax and out the door for that price... And for a wheels and tires I would look at something like Megs all wheel brightner and something cost effective in their detailer line for tire shine...

all the cars have black steel wheels basic apc will be fine

I would not even bother using Chemical Guys products on that thing. Rain X has a foam wash and if you use a foam cannon it would work the same as Honeydew Foam. As far as Spray Wax Napa has a spray wax 32oz for $5.99. More of that $10 in your pocket.

Sounds like an ONR with wax, apply tire dressing job to me.

Bottom line ... That's not enough money to justify using any expensive products on those cars unless you like losing money.

Along with that thought in mind:

Make the police officers feel right at home by using:

Hey I take offense to that one! :nomore:

Jk

On a note though, just make it looks good don't bust your but because I know when I do our cars I end up cleaning the car out before my shift. They get dirty fast and beat up fast.

I'm a police officer myself and have detailed many police cars. Be careful with the decals. I usually don't clsy over them. I would get a good All In One cleaner wax. I use Poorboys and Blackfire both. If the decals are reflective I will usually go over them with a good wax. They will look great afterwards. I use Poorboy's World Polish with 100% Carnauba on the paint and Pinnalce XMT 180 on the decals.
