Need some ON THE JOB TRAINING

I am looking for someone in the Nc Va area to let me work with them for free. This is honest, I would love to shadow and assist someone and learn from a pro, no strings.
 
Some people have a bit more class, and competition is what drives companies.

Mike Phillips teaches everyone for free through his videos, and advice given on this forum.

A secure pro wouldnt mind teaching a newbie his talent, espescially from hours away.

You mean like the guy I met on this forum that wanted me to teach him a few tricks so "he could keep his own cars detailed", then 1 month later was making posts about how he was detailing professionally now/then?

I forgave that dude before I ever had a chance to get mad. He actually blew his cover when we met and he started asking too many questions about how I found business !

If dude would've just been honest with me, I would've taught him something useful. I've taught dozens of ppl how to make a living at this over the years.

Like I said before, I really do wish you the best....I mean that :dblthumb2:
 
Are there no pros willing to share their expertease, I would even go to DC, 3 HOURS north?

If you would accept novice detailers/weekend warriors, I think you would have better luck finding someone to help you. You probally wouldn't have to travel 3 hours away either
 
why don't you call local detailers and ask them? I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping
 
There's a forum get together going on in Hamilton, VA - a few hours north of you - on June 29th. May be good to drop in on that thread and see if you can added to the list.

There will be a lot of us there, with a lot of vehicles, tools, products, and tips/tricks/techniques to be shown and shared. It's not a professional apprenticeship, but opportunities to learn are everywhere.

On can read forums and books and theory all day - all that will do is make one good at repeating forums, books, and theory.

When you put hands on a polisher for the first time all the books, forums, and theory go out the window for a minute, and it's hard to focus, initially, all that read knowledge into practiced knowledge.

I may ask of you, what exactly do you have to contribute to his cause?
 
This is exactly how you learn how to detail.

Most detailers will help you out unlike what others have said.
Detailers are really nice people, usually. But there are some ahoes out there.
keep looking, you'll find a mentor.

I worked for the best detailer in the world to learn how to run a successfully detailing business.
Try to go to work for someone as a job so you can see how it's done day in a day out, watch all the videos you can, take all the classes you can and work on all the vehicles you can.
Detailing is an artform and you'll be a good detailer after you 500th detail

And I'll train you if your ever in So Cal. And Meguiar's is here too.
