Working on a family members car tomorrow and didn't realize he had leather in his Malibu. I picked up a sample of Pinnacle Leather Conditioner on one of my orders a while back... But what should I use to clean it up prior? I have CG All Clean+ and thought it would work fine... But the more I read, the less I feel confident. I have woolite 6:1 mixed for interior work as well, would that be safer? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
 
Given your options, Woolite is the way to go. Also, you can use Meguiar's QID as that works fine on leather and can be found at AutoZone, etc.

I just recently did an '05 Acura TSX with tan leather using Meg's APC+ at 4:1 (water:cleaner) and it came out perfect. A stiff bristle brush also helps a lot, too. See pics below for 50/50s.

One thing to keep in mind is that after the seats have been cleaned...the conditioner won't help much with protection. Depending on the year of the car you may want to seal the seats. Most seats are sealed or coated with a sparurathane product. But as time goes on, friction ie butt and back to seat the coating wears off. There was a thread a long while back with some cg conditioner and they showed how after a quick sit in the seat, the oils wore off quick, like next day quick( was a very informative review btw) http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/46966-review-chemical-guys-leather-combo.html

I like conditioner on worn leather. I'm a huge fan of sealants. I seal most leather. It also helps with prevention and ease of cleaning dye transfer. Collinite makes a leather sealant and it is great. It uses same blend of sealant/wax with some minor oils for seats. Also if you are in time crunch Meg's makes a leather kit OTC. It is good as well, but as you could imagine you will get smaller bottle of sealant in it. It does a good job though. Good luck.
 
I will be driving by the Collinite factory all this week and will be picking up the leather sealant for sure.

Picked up a yellow Camaro conv. for my wife and must keep it looking good :-)

Mike passed away a few years ago and was a great guy.
When my son was a Race Engineer for Indy car Mike gave me wax to take to the race for the team :-)
His sons run it now and are doing a good job.


I have been buying wax from them since the 60's
 
wow .... that 1/2 and 1/2 shows a clear difference. Nice work !

That's really cool. That's a long time for product use. Just goes to show quality leads to loyalty.
