Haven't posted in a while, thought I'd show my most recent detail... One of my favorite customers brought me his bimmer this week to get detailed. His most repeated words during his consultation were "Can you make it shine like my benz?" (The last car I did for him). I assured him it would look better than he's ever seen it. I had a few pictures taken during the process but the person wasn't there during the full detail so there are some gaps, but enjoy. If you have questions please ask since the pictures don't show the whole process and I do not have time at the moment for a full writeup.

Beautiful job on a beautiful car! Curious if you found the paint to be hard / soft and if you took measurements? My 07 335i is the same color and I'm always interested in what others have to say about working with it.

Great results!!

I found the paint pretty easy to work with. I always measure paint since so many cars are touched up and resprayed and/or previously buffed by Vikings with rotaries and wool pads haha. This one was fine, it had a few little fillers from rock chips I had to deal with but nothing special.

man you nailed the correction. Love the color. what kind of sealant/wax did u apply?

I used Four Star UPP (let it cure for a day), then topped with Collinite. It is his daily driver and he drives quite a bit for work.

Those wheels came out great, removed that "free BMW anthrasite finish" quite nicely!

yeah bmw wheels are always tricky... they are almost never well taken care of properly and the clearcoat has a tendancy to fail. so you MUST be careful when doing them, only nicely ph balanced cleaners, agitate, repeat if necessary and polish them out. I always sell wheel sealant service to BMW owners haha.

The owner was very pleased. He had taken it to another detailer in the area (I was on vacation) who looked at it and said it was already shiney. He brought the car to me upon my return and I told him the paint was in terrible shape... Extreme opposite observations within a week. My advice is to take your time, get to know your customers and they will always pay to come back to you. Not every car can be done to perfection, so don't go around making promises of perfection and disappointing your customers. A detailer has to know his limits and know what can and cannot be done. Enjoy what you do. We (on this site) are all of different levels of experience. I didn't jump into the detailing business overnight. It's been something I've been doing for over 10 years now.

Great pics; and the last one with you in it is a keeper.

You made it shine buddy ! Great job .

As a side note , I ll need some lights as the one that you have in there , kind of construction lights ! I guess they can be bought at Home Depot & the likes .

yup, buy some halogen lights. make sure they are at least 500w per light and it always helps if it is height adjustable. just be cautious when using/working around them because they do get very hot.
