Picked up a TDI Cup Edition today.

Just found out there were only 89 made in salsa red with a manual. Even less with the Thunderbunny kit. Kinda neat.

Had some parts fall off that said they were plugged. Also got a stage II tune from Malone. 300ft-lb to the wheels now, pretty quick little car. Main reason I like TDI's lots of torque down low, much nicer to drive than anything else. But I am used to semis, tractors and diesel trucks so I've never been much for revving an engine.

Also put a Panzer plate on it.

And got it setup for winter a month ago with some different smaller rims and Xi3's.

I love the TDI cup cars. I drive a 2010 TDI sportwagen with a 6 speed. Love the car.

Sick Cup. I have a 2013 Jetta TDI with stage 1 APR (I know, I know, Malone kills APR) but nonetheless, I love VW diesels. Especially mk5 thunderbunny Cups

Got some vids of it also.

Finished up the rest of the exhaust a few weeks ago, this thing is maybe a bit too loud now. Sounds like a straight piped WRX STI. Louder than my older straight piped TDI thats for sure and louder than a straight piped Duramax. May add a resonator as theres really only a couple spots through the range where it mind numbingly loud. Cruising on the road its not bad though. Scares the Prius's though.

Yes her car was very dirty, nice Wisconsin roads.

I also put in some storage stuff from the European models. Jetta's have a dash vent that is supposed to be for "indirect air". I could care less and always set my phone up there, so the dash pocket that comes on some euro's was worth it to me.

Also put in the left hand glovebox. The American models got a whole bunch of metal panels in there to get a better crash rating. Did I make the care unsafe by removing them? Well I agree with most people that if its safe enough for the rest of the world, its safe enough for me. My guess is the way a certain test was done here, those helped it pass. I'd like to add the underseat drawers when the time comes too. The GLI seats that they use in the Cup are manual so both have room for a drawer under them. I hate wasted space and hate stuff that doesn't have a home, but I hate stuff that looks tacky. All of this is factory stuff so it turns out nice. I thought about swapping the center console and using a european cupholder that can be closed. Also has a bottle opener haha.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for an edition 35 steering wheel, shifter and e brake handle. Almost won a shifter on eBay, but I think the steering wheel will be tougher especially since I need one without paddle shifters for a manual. I really like the way the edition 35 interior looks though and the red stitching would really go well with the car so I may just breakdown one day. I don't plan on ever selling this car. I will not ruin this car with aftermarket stuff, but OEM stuff from other models is okay to me. I mean they halfway made the TDI Cup a GTI anyways.

Sweet car. I don't think the Edition 35 stuff is any different than our MK6 Autobahns.

Unless things have changed, the edition 35 was only in Europe. Red stitching on the steering wheel and the shifter are the two main special items different from US GTI/GLI's.

We didn't have the edition 35, but here is a 2012 Autobahn I used in a how to drive stick video.

Our new edition 30 GLIs also have the red stitching.
