According to the Carpro website, they were supposed to be back in stock today (Monday), so AG shouldn't be too far behind.

In my experience I have found a natural sea sponge to work better than any mitt I have used and it's the lowest maintenance wash product I have ever used.
  • Holds a large volume of soapy water
  • Very soft when wet
  • Excellent pulling dirt into the sponge away from the paint
  • Releases dirt better than popular mitts I've used (MF knobby, lamb's wool, etc...) - I just squeeze it out a few times and it's all gone. No need for a grit guard
  • Once finished, rinse it out and let dry. Done. No special treatment, no laundering.
Here is a decent article on why sea sponges are great for washing the car if anyone is interested.

Excellent post Swanic! I really like the Cobra Micro Chenilles. They are the perfect size for me. Like others have said I believe technique to be of uptmost importance in scratch prevention.

I use the my ride microfiber wash mitts, they are plush and are for people with big hands. If that is in the wash machine, I would go with the meguiars mitt, I also have a 23 dollar gtechniq mitt, works well too

I love the Meguiar's microfiber wash mitt. At $5, it's a great value and is super soft and easy to wash and dry. I have no reason to try any other mitt.

I've tried the chenille mitts and don't like them one bit. They are heavy, don't soak up suds well, hold too much water, and can't get into tight spaces. They also feel very grabby like another poster said earlier.

How do you maintain the carpro mitt?

Throw it in the wash with my microfibers.
Looks perfect after probably 2 dozen washes.
And when you wash it there's no need to brush it, just hang to dry and it looks as good as new.

The Megs MF mitts are great for the price. Also like the microfiber madness incredimitt.

Upper Half: single-sided merino wool w/ mesh backed mitt (GTechniq, CarPro)
Bottom Half: microfiber chenille/dreadlock mitt

I've been cutting out the foam liners in the dreadlock mitts, and am excited because I just ordered a couple MicrofiberTech cuff-less, foam liner-less dreadlock mitts.
