Last week I went to correct my car and ended up quitting. A year and half ago I did a paint correction on my car after I got the car. I used the Wolfgang twins and got about 90% correction. Fast forward to now, I used Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover on my test spot with a LC orange flat pad on a PC at speed 6. I did 6 section passes overlapping and a very slow arm speed. I got about 50% correction this time. It wasn't even taking out some of the big water spots that got etched in. Only half of the swirls were removed. The paint is BMW Monaco Blue Metallic. Does this paint have a hard clear coat? I remember reading somewhere where they said it was soft, but it seemed like it was really hard to correct it. I was thinking about stepping it up and getting some microfiber pads. Either the buff & shine orange cutting microfiber pads or the Meguiar's microfiber cutting discs. Will the 5 inch Meguiar's pads work on a 5 inch backing plate or not? Now onto compound polish. Because the TSR wasn't really doing much, I was thinking about moving up to a compound. I was thinking Menz FG 400 with a microfiber cutting pad on speed 6 then follow up with Menz SF 4500 with a LC flat black pad on speed 5. Is this too aggressive? I don't have any of these products yet, but im trying to get an idea on what will work before wasting money on something thats not going to give me much better results than WG TSR.
