I may be detailing a late 60's Opel gt. car is very clean and very original including the single stage paint. It's a dark green color and is very faded and oxidized. I am very interested in trying Mike Phillips method using number 7. I just don't know how to charge for something like this. I was thinking an hourly rate of some sort. My classic car detail package is $175. The owner is okay with that. I do include a one step polish. But restoring original paint is an optional service. Just has me thinking what to do.

Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Any paints of the car ! Might help you mate .

If your referring to pics I do not have any. I was thinking charging a rate between $30-40 an hour. Seems reasonable to me considering the labor.

For a job that I know is that big I usually charge $25.00 an hour seems steep but for the work requierd it's fine, I tend to love these jobs for the fact that you walk off with a fairly nice payday when all said and done.

I try and base my other services around $20 and hour. That's why I was think around $30. Maybe $25 would be more reasonable.

I have a price set. On a different note. After number 7 is wiped off what is the least aggressive polish to use? I was thinking M80 but maybe something even less aggressive. Where does scratch x and swirl x fall in relation to M80?
