This vehicle was referred to me from the Camaro5 forum. The owner started a thread over there looking for an Opti Coat installer located in Las Vegas and one of our member’s here on AGO (af90) referred him to me as he is also on the Camaro5 forum. After making contact with the owner I found out he used to live behind me as he was Military before getting out. He mentioned before that when he would drive by on the weekends he thought man this guys is always doing cars! Lol.

Anyways the car was pretty clean when I received it as he goes out with the local Camaro club to our Cars&Coffee and the car isn’t driven much. It DID however have its share of RIDS and a few of them remained in the finish after the job. I found this paint to be “Corvette Hard” after working a few sections. I also noticed that FG400 finished dang near LSP ready and when polished with SF4000 not much more clarity was added. After seeing this only the large flat areas where finished with SF4000.

Thanks for looking.

:)

Looks terrific, Mike! The gloss is amazing! I bet the owner was ecstatic.

You're crazy to be working in this heat. Did the wheel cleaner evaporate quickly? Any problems working with the polish in this heat?

Keep up the good work buddy!!

Looks absolutely awesome! Good to see FG400 worked well.

Is the shampoo you used diluted or used straight in the foam gun? That's some ridiculously thick suds from a Gilmour.

Looks great Mike, like it is dripping wet paint off the car. Thanks for sharing. Two quick questions, do you have a drain in the garage as to what you do with all the water and can you find the super soap in anything less than 5 gallons, if so let me know.

Thanks Marc!!! The owner was thrilled with the level of gloss.

I know right!? You should have seen the wheel cleaner drying up. I only let it dwell for a minute and then I had to agitate it or else it would start drying up. The compound/polish weren't affected much as I would have thought. Only to a minor degree.

Thank you sir! I am very pleased with the way that it works.

I mix Super Soap 50/50. I always thought that my foam was on the thin side. Hmmmm. I guess not.

Now that looks SWEET!

Thanks Kevin!!

Thanks Chris!! No problem. I enjoy sharing my work.

I don't have a drain in my garage. I just squeegee out the water after every hose application. It dosn't take long to dry up in this hot, dry Vegas weather.

I just heard from my local Meguiar's distributor that they have stopped the 1 gallon version of Super Soap. Such a shame as it is a great soap. I have just under half a gallon now.

That is a shame it is a good soap I can only find it in 5 gallon jugs and they want more to ship it than the actually product cost. Guess I will have to find another soap. That stuff was so slick it felt like the mitt was gliding over the paint.

I need to try Super Soap. I have tried shampoo plus and the suds are pathetic. The shampoo is very thin...

It sucks that they're discontinuing it now.

I was very disappointed to hear the discontinuation of the 1 gallon version. I will check back with my local supplier and see if they will refill my 1 gallon Super Soap.

Great job mike:)

Thanks Todd!

Awesome work as usual Mike. It turned out great!!

Mike awesome work as usual! Really like that color, too. Assuming "doubling up" on the FG400 first with the Flex and then with the GG was to work it down to "darn near LSP ready"?

Really great job - I wonder how thick that paint is ? :D

Thanks Rob!

I was on the 3401/FG400 while my stepson was on the GG3/FG400. I hit the major panels while he did the thin areas. After that then it was just the 3401/SF4000 on the major panels.

Maybe I can get some readings off that car.

Top results mate ! That Menzerna - Flex combo s killer .

Thank you sir! I agree! 3401 and FG400 is indeed a killer combo.

Hi Mike...

As usual...
Your omnipresent detailing skills have been utilized to create another most pleasing result, to say the least!

Yet another customer of yours, IMHO, is faced with a dilemma:
-I'm sure that this Camaro's owner is not known for being given to ostentation...
However...
-Given the now grandiose-appearance of this Camaro, any Car Show in which it will be now entered will be...no doubt...
delayed somewhat during the awards presentation by the ceremonial playing of: "Pomp and Circumstance".

One thing I've got to ask now is:
What will the Car Guys/Gals in the Vegas-area do without you when you head off to Germany?!?!

:)

Bob

Thanks for comment Bob. I always enjoy reading your responses.

Im working on getting member 530inv up to speed on detailing as I would like to hand over my customer base to him when I leave for Germany.
