I bought this new car wash spray nozzle from walmart last week and it has about 6 different spray patterns with a clear plastic screw on type bottle for carwash solution that holds about 4oz of soap. Im new to using this thing and from the two times I already used it, it seemed to work alright. All I am doing with it is filling the canister with 2 oz of my carwash solution(Meguiars ultimate wash and wax), turn the dial on top to the soap option and with my spray pattern selected, I start spraying the car with the soap from top to bottom like if I were handwashing my car. Ill add more soap as needed...since it does run out fairly quick lol. What I want to know from my dear AGO friends, is do you think this is doing much good to actually washing the car, or is the 2 bucket method better and something I should go back to doing? Give me any thoughts you may have that could help me decide what to do. Thanks in advanceFeed back please

I dont think it could hurt. Adds a little more lubrication and will help break up grime before using the 2 bucket method

If you want to get super technical, its better to apply soap and chemicals with a foam cannon etc, from bottom to top. This helps avoid any possible runs and streaks that can (extremely rarely) cause stains in the paint.

Go buy the little big shot nozzle from Home Depot, 9 bucks, solid brass, made in usa. Basically you have a very hard spray without buying a power washer .Best 9 bucks I ever spent

I bought this same exact nozzle the OP has written about, but have yet to try it. I was thinking along the same lines. When it comes to car care products I am a bit impulsive. I'm sure one of these days I'll break it out, but since I discovered SnowSoap, I am considering a foam cannon the next time around.

I have the same one. I use it to soak down the car before doing a 2 bucket wash.

:iagree:

I would not use this nozzle as a replacement to the 2 bucket method, but rather as a supplement.

how bout a pic of this thingamajig

You don't think this would be useful on a professional level though? I know its a cheapy tool and all...I seen it one day in the detailing isle at walmart and thought maybe I should give it a go. Depending on how dirty the car is prior to washing, how affective do you think this would be trying to completely remove heavy rain water that's dried on the car, or even some road grime? I have an idea already what the answer may be.

If u want to actually remove grime and whatnot, you need a pressure washer and a foam cannon.

Agreed. I have the same one and I use it prior to using a 2 bucket wash. It works ok for removing some light dirt.

I use one from here that basically does the same thing. The greatest benefit I see from it is that it loosens bug splatter so that it washes of easily. I spray it on then get to work on all my wheels then respray it again and let it soak some more while I mix up my 2 bucket wash. After those soakings everything comes off with wash mitt pressure. I have had a bug or 2 have on a verticall surface take a couple of harder wipes but all it all it's a plus to have. DP high foaming soap works best but any decent soap will work. The DP foams a little better but nothing like a foam cannon with a pressure washer.

Yes, it's not enough to remove anything, but it helps pre soak stubborn dirt and add extra soap to the surface.

Griot's sells the same exact one. I concur with posts above. Only complaint over others that I would have is that the reservoir is small ~ 4 oz.. I'd prefer the larger 16 oz or quart sizes. But it will work as advertised. :)

I have this nozzle, it works great for the shade-tree kind of detailer. The soap does seem to dispense rather quickly though, but it is a great pre-soaker before the two-bucket method. Can't beat the price either. The jet spray pattern is good for the wheel well cleaning too. :xyxthumbs:
