I have become quite comfortable with my PC 7424XP, M105/M205 on orange LC ccs pads. Doing $100,000 collector cars, Benz, BMW etc. I wet sanded and buffed my front and rear freshly painted bumper covers on my 94 Z28 with this setup(black).

I bought a truck with some deep scratches, through the clear into the paint scratches.

I have heard you can fill them back to just a tad higher than the existing paint, wet sand and buff back down.

Can someone please point out the do's and dont's here?

I am not looking for a show quality repair, just to make it better.

All comments appreciated.

Here is my detail pic collection if anyone is interested.

Re: Deep scratch fill, sand buff....need guidance

I'm also interested in learning how to do this, I looked around and found that some people use the Carpro orange peel denim pads to remove the extra touchup paint with good results, probably less work than wet sanding...

I ordered a couple of denim pads so next time I'll try that technic

FastFatBoy are you talking about filling a scratched up car with touch up paint. Then wet sanding it out(to smooth it out) then buff the shine back?

There's a tutorial on here called how to remove key scratches that should help. I'd find it for you but I'm on my phone.

I have to agree with you, its probably a lot safer as well.
