I can understand why autogeek mods might have deleted that thread (obvious finacial reasons) but it's really not in the best interest of its customers to take that info off the internet.

If you google two words... "Leatherique ruined" you'll see that my seat isn't the only leather that leatherique ruined. There are quite a few unfortunate folks that are not happy with leatheriqye or the companies stance once there is a problem.

I've emailed AG about my isues twice in the past week and have not received a response. At the very least, I want to return this $90 leatherique kit because I won't be using it ever again.

The makers of leatherique said the product worked as it was supposed to and I should be happy with my now permenantly stained seat. When I asked them about the hard bristled brush, the vague instructions and for a refund, they said .. and I quote...
Don;
You did not buy this product from us. You got it from Palm Beach motoring. We manufacture the Rejuvenator and Prestine Clean. PBM put it together in a kit with the brush and towels.

They included the directions in your kit.

These are the kind of folks that make and distribute leatherique. If you EVER have a problem... a real problem like many of use have (google 2 words "LEATERIQUE RUINED") you're out of luck.

Oh boy, here we go again!

Popcorn is ready, I prefer Pop Secret. :dblthumb2:

What can I do when I notice that thread is gone... POOF?! GONE!

That thread had some very important and genuinely truthful information and photos for future king ranch owners who are looking to "rejuvinate" their expensive leather.

I can only imagine future leatherique sales on autogeek might have been effected so the thread was deleted. Why else would it have disappeared?

George at leatherique also said this in an email to me... "Don;

once the Rejuvenator is absorbed into the hides, just like any liquid, it will return back to just as it was before you used the product."

Looking at my pics above, does anyone really think that my leatherique stained seat is going to magically ..."return back to just as it was before you used the product."

I would suggest trying to call instead of email.

I actually purchased some, so thanks!:dblthumb2:

Maybe call and ask there reasons for taking it down?

Call AG? eck, I can't even get them to respond to my issue with leatherique or offer a refund. I doubt they're going to tell me why a thread full of important info for king ranch owner was deleted.

I got a question for you. If I recall, the Leatherique process is to FIRST condition the seats with the oil product. Then, you use Pristine Clean to remove the excess oil product.

Did you use the Pristine Clean? I can't recall.

I hope it works out for you. :xyxthumbs:

Well it reminded me I was out, and I acutally use it on shoes and stuff too. More than just cars and such. Great for old boots surprsingly!:dblthumb2:

In every instance of someones leather being ruined by leatherique, George eventually comes on to the forum and posts the same long letter about how great leatherique is, how his father developed it 50 years ago and 1000s of car enthusiasts love it etc etc etc. Never once does he take any responsibility for what his product does to SOME leather.

My very very BAD experience with Leatherique - MyE28.com

Hello D0n,

I know the thread was closed, and you're most likely right, it was also then later deleted.

I'm assuming the thread turned too difficult for moderators to clean up, and thus, pertinent info is now lost, and gone.

There's always going to be some special occurrence, where a product won't work right for a given customer, and application.

I had a dislike of one certain product from AG, from the folks of GTehcniq (C4).

The reasons why it didn't work as well as I would've liked may have been many.

And, the first thread I started about it, and about the only dislike I had at that point about the product was that it was extremely expensive, and to comment how much of I used, that it didn't really go far. Some said I used it incorrectly, and there were numerous other comments, some helpful, and some not too helpful

That thread seemed to go south quickly, with some less than amicable trades that went back and forth, and in fact, that thread was closed also. It too may have been deleted, I never bothered to really check?

The product continued to disappoint, and a later thread was started, which I think still exists?

Overall D0n, I think something was shared, and learned, and some will remember this thread, and will perhaps forewarn others in the future, that Leatherique is not necessarily a bad, or flawed product, but one will have to use some caution with its use, and that in certain instances it may not be the ideal choice for certain leathers.

I myself have inquired about this product in the past on this forum, probably posting to an existing thread of it.

My question was would this product be useful on painted Leather, which is what is in my Tahoe, and that is commonly found in many American made vehicles.

The answer was no, that leatherique would not penetrate the surface and condition this type of leather, thus it would serve no benefit to use it.

Since AG is a dealer of this product, perhaps a good suggestion to the folks at AG, might be to place some wordage into the description of this product, and its use, and that there may be certain leathers that might have their appearance notably changed-altered, and for some other leathers, the product will serve no benefit?

The one thing if the thread was indeed deleted, is now you can no longer go back, and access some of the helpful info that some members here provided, and suggested to you.

About the only thing I can suggest at this point, is that if you can remember who provided such info that you now seek, perhaps you can PM them privately, to again request their help?

Best of luck to you, Mark

I Swanic -Yes I did. Look at the staining from the leatherique oils in my seat in the pictures. Unfortunately, no amount of prestine clean is taking that out.

I can't even get AG to repsond to my emails about a measly $90 refund of the leatherique. I doubt they're going to take my suggestion to change the wording on the instructions.

Exactly! Some people offered a lot of helpful tips about the ford king ranch leather and that's gone as well.

I found AG by watching wayne carini on "chasing classic cars" I found leatherique by finding AG because of wayne carini. Maybe I need to go a little farther back in the chain to get any satisfaction? It seems that all AG is fgoing to do is probably ban me and delete any negative threads about products they sell. No cool IMO.

:iagree:
