** Favorite Car Movie & Why

My favorites are:

-Christine
-Gone in 60 Seconds
-American Graffiti

Also one of my favorites, even though it's actually a motorcycle movie, it's one of the best I've seen, and based on a true story:

-The World's Fastest Indian

After reading through the posts, I realized something: every single one of those responses are correct.

My personal favorites:

Drive (great driving, great plot, great action, and great gloves)
Bullitt (Steve McQueen and the mustang. Nuff said)
Le Mans (Steve McQueen in a Porsche beating Ferarri in the greatest sports car race in the world)
Gone in 60 Seconds (Nick Cage won an Oscar... Not for this movie though. Still, 50 cars - 1 night)
Talladaga Nights (two first names: Ricky Bobby)
Rush (Best F1 movie ever. Sorry Grand Prix)

Yeah those are all great mainstream car flix, everybody knows about...

Corvette Summer (1978) was a awesome car movie !

That really seems like one of those movies that seems best left as a memory of watching it at 2AM on HBO 30 years ago. Trust me, I've dug up some of those memories on DVD and been embarrassed when enjoying (?) those "awesome" movies with friends.

IIRC that movie was also a showcase for demonstrating why Mark Hamill (seemingly) never did any other movies besides this one and the Star Wars films.

AH HA HA i know exactly what you mean. Its like remembering how 'awesome' you thought Air Wolf was as a kid, then watching it again and seeing how damn cheesy it was.

Best movie of all time.

Only favorite of mine that hasn't been mentioned already is

The Gumball Rally - the scenes between the Ferrari and the Cobra. This was portrayed as the more realistic story of Brock Yates' Cannonball races.
