So, I just ordered a Flex 3401vrg. My first attempt at buffing is coming up and don't know how many of each pad I will need to do an entire car. Can I just clean a pad as I go, or will I need 2 or 3 of each pad to make it through the whole process? Thx.

You should have 2 or 3 or 4 of each grade. You can do some cleaning on the fly but eventually they will be saturated and/or dirty.

Welcome to The forum!

I would ay least have a minimum of three of each Cutting Polishing Finishing.

Welcome my friend! No, you really should not clean pads as you go unless you are desparate.

I originally thought I could just have one or two of each one, but I found that for the price of a pad, it is really worth it. Also, today was my first time trying out the Lake Country Hydrotech Pads and I have to say, I really liked them! My previous other experience had been with CCS pads, however.

Also, I am just an enthusiast and not a professional, so take it with a grain of salt. That being said, I think you will see that Hydrotech pads are a go to on the forum. My personal recommendation: go with a three pack of each.

Happy detailing!

Wow, thx for the quick answers and welcome. Looks like I have another order to place. This gets expensive really quick when you're starting out.

Cleaning on the fly, with a brush or towel, is recommended--do you mean you should not "wash" pads as you go??
