So I had the pleasure of working on this 08 GMC acadia for a full detail.
Here she is when I first got her

Here in these pictures swrils and scratches that are caused by improper washing or using improper wash tools.

Here is another example of swirling in the paint. We did a test section using Meguiars 105 compound and a orange lake country flat pad. On the right side of the tape you can see the swirls.

On the left side is polished after one pass.

Checking our work after polishing the hood. Its important to check your work after you polish different sections of the car because you want to make sure you are getting the same results on the different painted materials on the car. For instance the hood is made of a different material than the rear bumper per say and may have been painted differently than other parts of the car. Basically what I am trying to say is different panels may give you different results on how you are polishing.

To clean the wheels I used my wheel woolies and Meguiars Ultra safe wheel brush.

Tires were cleaned with Eagle One all wheel cleaner.

The entire car was washed and clayed using the Magic shine auto eraser that is the same kind of technology that the nanao skin clay pads use. The car was then dried and was polished using meguiars 105 on lake country orange pads and in some areas the Flex rotary was used with a wool pad to bust out some heavier defects. Then the car was polished using Menzerna Super Intensive Polish on a white lake country pad via porter cable. Then waxed with Meguiars Ultimate Paste wax . Then inside was vacuumed, steamed shampooed, cleaned and dressed. We used Meguiars all purpose cleaner and meguiars super degreaser and Meguiars Ultimate protectant which is a awesome dressing. And now for the afters.

Thank you so much! there is a ton of flake in that paint, on the jambs I sprayed Meguiars super degreaser then agitated with a old wash mitt dedicated to dirtier jobs with car wash soap and rinsed with water. No dressings were used as I feel it attracts dirt faster.

That flake looks awesome man. Great job on the paint and the inside.

Sent from my SCH-I545 using AG Online

Good job. Your skills are impressive. Didn't even take an over the top car to make me say WOW.

Looks better than new. Makes me remember how much work I still have to do on my DD.

Great work indeed, achived fantastic results. I see the VIF inspection form on the center storage area, CYA. How long did it take from start to finish? Thanks for posting and sharing the pictures.

Gosh i just love how well you did the interior! Not to mention how flawless the paint looks! M105 seemed to have finished down super well on that car!

Wow that's a bunch of pictures! Good job on that detail the interior looks amazing as well as the rest of the car. Dark metallic colors are very forgiving as far as swirls go.
