Driving behind someone, what frustrates you?

Nobody believes this story: (it really happened)

Anybody believe this story? :)
^ again true story

It was in my 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage

Hey now, it could happen. :props: That sucker must have been really smashed up good by the time you got to it though, because I know a horse carcass can total out a car. Heck a Deer can total out a car. (Seen it!)

Betcha' cleaned horse meat from under that sucker for weeks!

When someone flicks a cigarette and it lands on my car. Rude! What if I put out a cigarette on their nose?

littering is one of my pet peeves :nomore: it would be nice to show up on their doorstep with a full bag of trash and dump it on their front porch...

Unfortunately, there's a species of human where intelligence was low on the pecking order for genetic balance.

I said it waaaay back when this thread started and here's someone else saying, smokers are the biggest pigs out there. You see people all the time flick it out the window olr when their walking just flick it into the street. I had a kid at a carshow last night flick his butt behind my car, they all do it and no, I'm not picking on smokers but rather calliing it like I see it. If your a smoker and offended, well, go back annd re-read what else I said about smokers, otherwise, learn where to put your butts!

Texting! Acura in front of me on the freeway, could see him looking at his lap, hmmm maybe he wasn't texting?! Anyway, goes off toward grass, where all the crap sits like truck tire rubber from a blowout. He ends up kicking up a big chunk of rubber, like half the size of a brick, bounces off the hood then the top of the windshield. The SUV I was driving was a month old but all in all it could have been worse. Black mark came out fine and no dent, lucked out. :nomore: texting!

Oh, and how about the guy hauling golf carts while I was coming home from Michigan over the weekend, one fell off his truck at 80mph. I drive a lot for my work so I see it all.

Later,

PC

Uh YEAH!
What was said earlier about putting it out on their nose. What about UP THEIR NOSE! :dblthumb2:

And another thing that erks me. Spitting out gum in the parking lot. I can't walk long distances, ergo I park in the blue zone. Went to Lowes yesterday and as soon as I put my foot down getting out of the car, hot melted gum on my just cleaned shoes. Arrrrrgggghhh.

Oh I hear ya' about looking in his lap. I used to drive 80K or so a year (retired in 03). Back then there wasn't a lot of texting. Now though it's literally EVERYWHERE. Boggles the mind what is so freaking important that you need to drive with your eyes away from the windshield.

OTOH, I happened up behind a Camaro (back when) on I-285 next to the fast lane and the guy would go faster, then slower so I ended up right up on his bumper. I was loaded at the time (rollback) so quick brake checking on his part could have been fatal. Once I got close enough I could see some serious shenanigans was a going on. There was obviously a female passenger in there with him.Im the MAN
His seat was laid back and long hair was flying everywhere. (You fill in the blanks from there.)
Dude had no idea where he was, (likely didn't care). And after I followed him for about ½ a mile he suddenly jerked the car across THREE LANES and almost hit the exit sign, barreling up the exit at 70 miles an hour. I remember thinking, "Dude, it's only 63 miles back around, what's the hurry?". :dunno:

I still LMAO every time I remember it.

Well my upcoming honeymoon will have me traveling to Nashville, Gatlinburg and then onto the Tail of the Dragon/Cherahola Skyway/Moonshiners roads, as well as other roads in the area and the original title to this thread applies here "Driving behind someone, what FRUSTRATES you?"......the answer to that pressing question is this....TRIKES! These are the worst things to get stuck behind out there! Yes I know its a public road but there's pull offs installed out there now but those "riders" never use em'. I think they "get off" by holding up a line of many cars, as well as sport bikes. By design, these are some of the most unsafe things on the road. They've banned semi trucks from going down this road, at some point out there there's a sign that says as much and although they can't ban TRIKES out there I wish they would just go away!

Ok,
1. The fact that you are hitting the Dragon/Cherahola, etc on your honeymoon is awesome :dblthumb2:

2. Anything bike-wise that isn't a SuperMoto or something equivalent SUCKS being behind on the Dragon :bash:

Yeah Kitty, my wife to be has been hearing all about the Dragon since 2008, now she gets her turn but w/o a large group around, although a couple members of our regular group will be attending. Hogs are bad to be behind as well, not to mention regular cars that are just sightseeing, uuugh! I remember hangin' out at the overview (place where there's a mini rock wall on each side where you can sit) and seeing a semi going one way and another one came from the other way, have NO idea how that worked out! 2 years ago we saw a police escort of a semi being lead out of the Dragon and heading towards the Topico lodge, his brakes seized up.....hmmm, wonder how that happened?! There's signs that warm of tight turns and higher % grades but they just keep on going. As you know, some of the turns are so tight that a semi trailer can put an apex under its trailer, that's something I hate to see, its not good for anyone out there, ANYONE!

I will be down there the middle of next week, hitting Nashville first, then Gatlinburg and onto the Dragon area for 3 full days, in the middle of the week too!

Have you ever been a passenger on the Dragon?????

I'm scared to be a passenger out there, no matter who's driving or what's being driven. I've been driving for a living for a large chunk of my adult life and just can't give the wheel to someone else in a setting like that. Its not that I think I'm a better driver but rather I drive below my cars limits and keep it safe. That said though, when I get off of the Skyway and get onto the Dragon I do "push it more" because its a more controlled driving situation, slower speeds and banked turns, just get in the groove and GO FOR IT! As long as you have common sense, as well as good tires and brakes, your all set out there.

All this Dragon talk makes me think about doing an invite to my fellow AG'ers (you've been invited already Kitty) to our Dragon run next year. I feel pretty good about doing this due to how the members here carry themselves and how they care for their cars. Surely noone wants to destroy their pride and joy, thus should listen to the warnings I would and will put out there, its not mean't to scare but rather to inform.

I was .... ONCE. Not again. It was very nerv-racking

LOL- good idea... we'd all have a blast!

Here in Las Vegas we have people from all over who don't know where they want to go. Thus, standing still in the lane next to the left turn lanes while the light is green holding up traffic(as if they are the only one in the lane) so they can cut someone off to turn left. Whats so hard about going straight and making a U-turn down the block. Think of others not just yourself when in Vegas people!!!

Or people who want to cruise the strip at a snails pace taking pictures, uuuhhing and aaaahhing at the large boxes called casinos while the rest of us want to get by. WTF, take a helicopter ride if you want the view or pictures or get out and walk that fat azz of yours!!

Thanks for the vids Vegas, the Hell Roads was a mini series that also included The Million Dollar Highway, out in SE Colorodo and into New Mexico. I plan on hitting this road in the next 3 years which means I'll have to skip a year of the Dragon but I've gotta check it out, 10,000 foot elevation and beautiful views, I'm there!
