Hello guys,

I read that red food dye stains are impossible to remove, carpet or seat have to be re-dyed.

It that your experience as well or have you found a way to remove them? I read that steamers can take most of them out but not completelly. Curious to know if there is a way to remove the rest.

Never came across a stain I could not remove.... so far! I did do a little research in case and read on the subject and I have seen a couple of people claiming the wonderful benefits of peroxide and a common iron. I remember seeing a video on that a while back. Might be worth checking into :dunno:
 
White terry cloth towel saturated with Windex, pour the glass cleaner over the spot as well, lay the towel over the stain and get a hot iron and put it on the towel for a few seconds only, lift the towel and tell me what you see. Red:dblthumb2:

I've done this a few times and NEVER FAILED!
Continue doing this until the stain is gone, you may need a few towels , depends how bad the stain is.

Interesting. I'll try that next time i see a fruit punch/juice stain.
 
Would a steamer work just the same? hot iron / hot steamer?
 
I have a steamer but on most red dye stains I don't have much luck, if any at all.
The iron however is the real deal, not sure why the combo works so well but you just see red on the white cloth in a matter of a few seconds, simply flip the towel over to a clean side and keep going.

I guess I will need to add windex and a cloth iron to my detailing arsenal ;)

Have a janitorial store locally?

Betadine ((sp), the red stuff the doctors slather all over when you go to the hospital) remover will take out most reds.

Check with them, 'red stains' are a bear to get out.

There are products called red-out and red relief that will get it out
 
look into Pros Choice stain removers. They have a product called red 1 and red relief. Both are made to remove synthetic dye stains. Red 1 you dont use heat and Red Relief you use heat to remove the stain.
