Even using the polishes on the plastic painted front and rear bumpers? Sorry, I just haven't used polishes on these surfaces before.

I understand that vinyl/plastic trim (like bumper guards) or window moldings are treated differently.

If the underlying part is plastic, urethane, metal, etc. it's not really a factor as you're working on the paint that's on top of it.

Heat can be an issue when working on plastic or urethane parts as they don't dissipate heat as fast as metal parts.

The most common problem with heat and buffing on painted plastic/urethane parts is when using a rotary buffer and doing what's called,

Twisting

Or twisting the paint. If you're using dual action polishers this isn't a concern. IF you are using a rotary buffer, don't buff too long in one area to create too much heat.

This wasn't taken to show the quality of my correction necessarily, but you get the idea of what I was able to accomplish with the SIP, 4500 and Blackfire...

Typically, I bought the PC Menzerna kit and some Menz 4500; I also got the Wolfgang Duo. I can always use the excess for other projects. Any strong preferences for the Menz or the Wolfgang? From what I gather I probably should use the 4500 for my final polishing step regardless of what I use for the major correction and first polishing.

Car is almost completely taped up and ready to go. Looking forward to doing some polishing.

Finally, for protection: Collinate, Fuzion, or something else?

Menzerna Intensive/2000, Lake Flat White Pad
Menzerna Final Finish/3000, Lake Flat Black Pad
Menzerna Super Finish/4500, Lake Flat Blue Pad

Tried the final finish alone and it wasn't enough.

Appreciate any advice/criticism.

I thought it looks pretty good. Obviously, the bottom half is the correction.

Great results and very nice test spot. All you have to do now is to replicate this process throughout the car.

The only thing that I would like to say is that I feel these 3 steps might be a bit too many. Is there a way to eliminate the middle step ?

Also, show us a picture with your spotlight on the corrected side..
 
I'll give it a shot going from the 3000 to 4500 and see. I tried the 4000 then 4500 and that just didn't do it.

It's my car and I'm taking my time. Cutting out one step would certainly help.
