My going away gift from work

Very awesome gift Mike, we all appreciate all the sacrifices you are making for us! Good luck in Germany, sounds like you will be having some fun over there as well!

Mike, that is a awesome award. We used to do the same type thing for some of our guys also as they retired or moved on. No where near this type of detail and thoughtfulness. Our shop received an award while in Qatar that the machine shop made, it was the Air Force Logo with our Unit number and dates. Really makes you feel good to be part of such a good organization and shop.
As many have said, thanks for your service and best of luck in Germany. Be safe and have fun. I am sure we will still see you on the forum.

Totally OT: WOW, 5 years at one station! I just realized that when I fully read the plaque. Is that a common thing in the Air Force?

I thought the last 3 years I was in (USCG) and spent on one ship was good.

Yes it is very common to stay at one station for an extended amount of time. Budget cuts have furthered these extended stays. I work with guys that have been here 10+ years!

I'm going to Germany for a minimum of 4 years.

Thanks Bill. We leave Vegas Sunday morning to arrive in Baltimore and leave baltimore Monday evening for Germany.
