I’ve poured tons of soaps onto my grass (and weeds) near a retaining wall where I kept the wash bucket. It doesn’t matter what type of wash (gloss enhancers, SiO2, Reset), it doesn’t do anything to the grass or unfortunately the leaves. I started the trend just yo see if it would and kept doing...
Longevity is important to me only when I’m hooking up a family member or friend and know their car won’t be back at my house for awhile. For these situations I am taking longevity as my #1 priority.
For my own cars it’s pretty much a non-factor.
CanCoat and Premier are in two totally different levels as far as ease of use. IGL is as easy as a traditional spray sealant like Megs UQW or Aquawax.
Cancoat is easy ‘for a coating’ but you have to follow the process in small areas at a time and buff thoroughly or you’re going to have a legit...
I voted Need for Bead. I think it’s similar to Beadmaker but I use less per application and it’s slightly easier to use in my opinion (I’ve not had streaking issues). They are very close though.
I always liked UQW but for gloss and slickness, the two above are better. UQW is a great drying aid...
In the meantime, since you already purchased the booster, and assuming you don’t have any coatings planned in the near future, I would use it up on the SiO2 Sealant. Assuming it’s OK to work with (grabbyness doesn’t bother you). It won’t be the ideal way to use it but would certainly add...
Mike, thanks for everything. You are one-of-a-kind and will be missed more than you know. There’s no way to explain how much I’ve learned and enjoyed from this hobby since the moment I started reading from your articles/tutorials/forum posts. It’s a sad day but I sincerely wish you the best...
My favorite thing about Fast Interior Detailer is the smell, which is important when tidying up the interior.
Megs Quik is good too but not sure it leaves any protection behind (FAST leaves a lil bit) and it doesn’t have any pleasant aroma I can think of.
It’s my opinion that your answer to #1 has been discussed here and you should use a normal wash for at least a few weeks before applying Solution Finish.
And for question #2 you can always use Solution Finish on new trim but I think you would absolutely be protecting the new trim by coating it...
Not that anyone should emulate me, but I do separate loads that are specific for PFM towels. I let them pile up in their own hamper and wash when I see fit. No pre-soak needed since these are only touching clean paint and H2O.
Towels used for drying aids, I pre-soak these if the drying aid is...
