I had to top up the tyre dressing on the Qashqai today, mainly because of the front passenger tyre, the rear passenger wasn't as bad, and the driver's side were good, but I topped them up anyway. Used Bowden's Sweet Rubber.

So under good conditions with the correct equipment, and someone who knows what they are doing, it appears safe. But how many who buy it are going to get it right. I'll still pass I think.
