I never thought of it as undersized. It's 3 inches in diameter. The steel beam is only 5 inches wide x 8 inches tall.
Hell I feel lucky. The guy three houses down has three 2 x 8s put together for his beam.
It works as it has been here for 38 years just as I have.

I'm looking at where it touches the floor, it looks like it's only an inch diameter

Crazy. For me here in the state HCD wipes the floor with Ech20 in hydrophobics. Really strong performance for only like 10 days but think I got like 3 weeks…. Great for a QD.

Just Ech20 looked better and much cheaper…

Funny, I was at a traffic light yesterday next to a giant BMW SUV that was matte, and wondered whether it was factory or a wrap. And looking at the wheels with the black spokes and machined face, and wondered when they refinish those whether they paint the whole thing black and machine the face and then clear the whole thing, which is undoubtedly how they do it at the factory, or if the refinisher masks the face of the spokes.

This right here. Worked on a white matte SUV a couple of months ago and there is some type of defect on the roof that polishing would remove in a matter of seconds but I guess he’s stuck with it for life. At least it’s on the roof where he doesn’t see it often.
 
When I bought Nextzett's Perlglanz Raindance a few months ago, I was a bit underwhelmed by it's performance, that was using it as a spray on, buff off, sealant. But I didn't realise it could also be used as a spray on rinse off product, so I decided to give it a test on a few panels, then I remembered I just got some of Bowden's touchless sealant as well. So it's comparison time, even though no one else on here is ever likely to buy either of these products. I gave the FJ a quick Reset wash first, then used Raindance on the left side front quarter, and both doors. Then used Bowden's Wet Dreams on the right side front quarter and both doors. In both cases I left the rear quarters alone, as a control, but both have Meg's HCD on them. I noticed Nextzett seemed to sheet water more, and Bowden's had more beading, but after drying both felt slicker than HCD, but Bowden's probably had a slight advantage over Nextzett. More rain due this week so I'll see if there is a difference after wet driving.

Looks good and most people don’t know the amount of care that goes into it….just not thinking ahead.

Put it this way, the people who can afford to buy those cars will keep it for a couple of years, then trade to the latest model. So, basically it's not their problem long term.

I saw a probably 3-4 year old Hyundai Kona in what was once a matt blue, I don't know if it was paint or a wrap, but it was looking quite shiny on the sides. Probably too much normal washing and drying.

I saw a green one in the Dellership with a Massive amount of bird 💩 on the paint.....just cooking in the sunlight
 
I had to top up the tyre dressing on the Qashqai today, mainly because of the front passenger tyre, the rear passenger wasn't as bad, and the driver's side were good, but I topped them up anyway. Used Bowden's Sweet Rubber.

I did wipe it over with ONR first, I am rather happy I put wider tyres on, the wheel did not get damaged. This is a really solid gutter rub.PSX_20250815_164603.jpg
