I know this is an old thread.... I just bought a 2013 Q5 in black metalic, what products and pads did you use on this?

I have had great results with dr color chip... but, one spot I used dr color chip then wet sanded (pretty lightly I think from 2000 to 3000 grit) and it turned a weird grayish color (a bmw black metalic), so in my experience it is great for road rash and chips and even scratches but not a larger...

bimmerforums.com is a great resource for e36 models as well as others but they seem to have the bulk of e36 followers, AG is also a sponsor. Another very good e36 resource is m3forum.net, they also seem to have a bit more mature/serious follower and it's sometimes easier to search through...

Mike or Todd, I'm curious why no mention of BFWD cure time (I understand it to be anywhere from 8 to 12 hours) before BFMS application? I did jump over to youtube and watch the 2 1/2 hour vid so I jumped ahead often, maybe I missed the mention or do you feel this isn't necessary? BK

Can someone check out there opti-coat 2.0 and look real carfully at it to see if there are tiny little brown particles like floating in it? I had an old unopened syringe for months just sitting and wonder if it's normal or went bad. Thanks, BK

I have a unused opticoat 2.0 syringe, I just sent you a pm for a possible trade for the bfwd. I know you said waxes for waxes but I thought maybe a long term sealant for wax might do it for you. BK
