    How often to use Aquawax

I use my Aquawax monthly, but it's a booster for a bi-annual application of DG 101 and DG 105. I guess if you felt a need to do something between monthly waxing, you could use the Aquawax weekly or bimonthly, as desired.

My first detail and product mini-reviews

Thanks! I held out until I could find one in that specific color. It's peculiar, though, and you can kinda tell from the pictures, which are spread out across six hours of work; the color seems to change, depending on the lighting. It looks deeper in the early morning, bright at high noon, and...

So how do YOU store your supplies.

Here's what I've got going: The two taller containers hold the actual cleaning chemicals. One of them is for stuff I'll only use for a full detail bi-anually (clay stuff, polishes, sealants, pads, etc.) and the other for stuff I'll use on a weekly/monthly basis (car shampoo, wheel cleaner...

Wait what were those steps again...?

Depends on how involved you want to get. For me, a full detail goes: Wheels Washing Claying Polishing Waxing

My first detail and product mini-reviews

By popular demand... pictures! Here's my AG order, fresh off the FedEx truck. I started feeling like a kid in a candy shop right about now. Here's everything unpacked and on the couch for display. The plain box holding up the Pinnacle products is the foam cannon box. Pictured but purchased...

My first detail and product mini-reviews

Okay, so I've done my first detail ever on my brand-new 2007 Mazda 3 GT hatchback (in Electric Blue). Actually, I did it a few weeks ago, and I'm just now getting around to posting about it. Here's my thoughts on the process and products I used (all of them ordered from here, most of them...

Black junk on inside of 1 wheel

Hmm, I've got the same thing on my wheels, just less of it. A bunch of little black dots that don't feel rough or anything, but some of them scrape off with a thumbnail. Foam soap and a good rinse didn't faze them, nor did Pinnacle Gel Wheel Cleaner and all the scrubbing I could muster with an...

    So what all gets polished/waxed?

Alright, so I've found plenty of guides (and a handy video tutorial) here about how to wax, but nothing about what to wax. Maybe it's assumed that I already know, but I don't. I mean, sure, I know to do the hood, roof, door panels, and fenders. Probably the rear hatch, too (it's a hatchback)...

    Foam Cannon?? Need Advice

Hey, is that a Bentley Continental GT under all that foam? Lord, but that's a beautiful car.

New to detailing and building my kit of supplies/equipment from scratch

Is Klasse specifically finicky, or is it just the nature of the art? DG105 was also recommended to me earlier, and if it's easier to use, perhaps I'd be better off with that, and move up to the trickier stuff once I have an idea as to what I'm doing. So the hood really will have to be done a...

New to detailing and building my kit of supplies/equipment from scratch

Okay, so would the Klasse AIO replace just the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion, or the XMT#2 Fine Swirl remover as well? Also, how much of this stuff is used on an average vehicle? Watching the tutorial, it looks like a nickel-size amount per 2' x 2' area, but the Klasse AIO page mentions...

New to detailing and building my kit of supplies/equipment from scratch

The Indigos are apparently just about the best thing going for removing polishes and sealants (according to Autogeek, anyway), which is why I added them to my list. I have considered a collinite wax, but I'm going to see how things go this winter with just the Klasse; it claims that it can last...

New to detailing and building my kit of supplies/equipment from scratch

Oh, and I dropped the Micro-Rejuvenator, because the Pinnacle MF cleaning stuff comes free with the MF kit. If I find it doesn't work as well, I'll replace it, but in the meantime... well, free is nice. My current list (probably putting in the order first thing Monday morning): Washing OXO...

New to detailing and building my kit of supplies/equipment from scratch

The Cobra MF kit comes with a Cobra micro-chenille wash mitt. I'm also going to yield to the collective wisdom here and move to the UDM and Edge 2000 kit, which is slightly cheaper than the PC/Edge kit (missing the red pad, but I won't have a use for that until next summer, when I may start...

New to detailing and building my kit of supplies/equipment from scratch

Okay, I've moved to the Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner for the outside (cheaper than the no-rinse, which I can always pick up if the hot-water-and-quick-drying-in-the-winter doesn't pan out. As for wheel stuff, that Pinnacle Wheel & Tire kit contains wheel cleaner, tire cleaner...
